Greetings from Tennessee
« on: May 19, 2019, 02:38:28 AM »
Hello -

My name is Brandy. I'm from Tennessee and my husband is the British half of our duo. He is from the Midlands - Staffordshire to be exact.

We have been married since Sept 2011 and have resided in the USA the entirety of our marriage. We wanted to move to the UK in 2014 but didn't realize all the immigration changes that took place in 2012. So that basically put our plans on hold for quite a while.

Fast forward to Oct 2018 - I was the full-time bread winner of our house and I lost my job. We decided to turn a negative into a positive and use the opportunity as the kick we needed to make the move to the UK happen. My husband flew to the UK in Dec 2018 - the first time he had been back since leaving in Aug 2011 - to get a job lined up.

He came back to Tennessee the middle of Jan 2019 to help me pack and move us to my Dad's place - where I am currently living. My husband left in the middle of Feb 2019 with our two fur babies to go start his new job in the UK.

I am waiting out my time until I can apply for my visa - which should be the beginning of September (which can't come soon enough)! Thankfully my Dad and step-mom are letting me live with them during this transition. I am not currently working - due to some health problems - so I have very long boring days and nights without my husband and pooches.

I am sure I will be posting some questions in the appropriate forum boards. Thanks for accepting me into this group and thank you in advance for everyone's hard work on here.

Brandy

Welcome!

It's absolutely fantastic that you're taking the time to do research and get it right so that it turns out easier in the end! You'd be surprised at how many people don't! I'm just sorry that it's causing you some short term separation!

Are you moving to Staffordshire when you move over?

Hi, and welcome!  As larrabee says, it sounds like you have everything all sorted, apart from the minutiae of the application process.  But you've done all the things you need to do to get your sponsor eligible to sponsor your application.  So, well done there!  Meanwhile...

I am not currently working - due to some health problems - so I have very long boring days and nights without my husband and pooches.

I like to research a LOT and read everything I can. And yes, I will be moving to Staffordshire area when I move over. More specifically the Cannock area.

I grew up in southern middle TN - right on the Alabama border.
But I have lived in the Chattanooga area since 2000.
Right now I am about an hour north of Chattanooga at my Dad's house.

I will definitely be visiting the forums. I do have a few detailed questions about certain parts of evidence for the application that I want to try to get clarification on.
