Tier 2 Dependent Visas
« on: June 07, 2019, 07:30:49 PM »
My visa saga just gets better. We applied for visas for our two kids, but I’m the only parent living with them in the U.K. for the first year. I didn’t realize both parents have to have a visa unless there are extenuating circumstances. My husband will be working in the US and visiting when you can. A visa will not work as he will be in the US far more than the U.K. he will only be the U.K. for a grand total of three months. These visits will be spread out. Since we have already applied, should we send letters explaining the situation? I would like to thank all of you on these boards. Without you, I’d be seriously sunk.

At this point, just see what happens with the visas.  If they are refused, we will help you reapply.

I’m really surprised your employer hasn’t handled this for you and provided you support with the application process.

Fingers crossed it all comes together and works out.

Thanks for the advice. I seriously appreciate all of you!  Unfortunately, we really don’t have the time to reapply. Would it hurt to send letters? If we have to reapply, at least I tried. I’m beside myself right now.

There is no one to send a letter to.

At best, you could contact your MP, but UKVI takes 20 working days to respond to them and a Tier 2 visa usually takes a max of 15 days to process...  so a bit moot.

Couldn’t I send letters to New York and ask that they be scanned into their file.? We are still in the US?

It’s not that simple, I’m afraid.  All you can do now is sit tight.
