Yeah, that’s a problem with the VFS website unfortunately - it only says you can buy the shipping labels if you use a Premium Centre, but you don’t need them if you use the Premium Centre!

It’d probably be easiest just to take the documents to a UPS store in the US and purchase the shipping labels from them, since the ‘courier service’ on the VFS site is nothing more than prepaid UPS labels.

One other thing you can now do is upload the documents to the VFS website instead of mailing them to New York... so you just mail the application forms, stamped biometrics letter and passports etc.

Then the applicant just keeps the original documents safe at home in case they request them to be resent.

Thanks. I will send myself on ups with return labels for them too i guess rather than the vfs ones.

To the broad st address in ny right?

Finally I think we’re there, after many sleepless nights. Ksand, you have been an amazing help, thank you so so much

Does anyone know if this will be a problem - on the application we wrote ‘15 xxxxx Building’ and on some of the evidence letters are addressed ‘Flat 15 xxxxx building’. Ie some has flat, some just has the number

Will that be ok? The rest of the address is the same

It will be fine.  For our address, the Council have us as "The Lodge", but everybody else has us as "xxxx Lodge", and I think that's a bigger discrepancy than your inclusion or omission of the word "Flat"... they changed the name of our house!

...more questions (sorry):

 1.  Lynn in the USA has all the cards and their envelopes that I've sent her over the years. Q: what does she provide as evidence (the cards are not dated but the envelopes are date stamped etc)?

2.  I (in the UK) have lots of cards from Lynn but not the envelopes. None of the cards are dated.  Q: Should Lynn (applicant) send copies of my cards as evidence or will hers do?

3.  Can the photos we are providing be scanned and pasted into a Word document?

4. Lynn's passports have to be posted to NY but should she upload copies of the photo page too?  Should she upload a copy of the stamped biometric document which also has to be posted?

Finally, here's the checklist of what Lynn is sending off - grateful if you could confirm we have covered it all:

     1. Her covering letter listing all documents provided (which she plans to uploaded and/or post as annotated)
     2. Sponsor letter (upload)
     3. Land Register Deed for my property owned outright (upload)
     4. Pension Advice Statement for my Armed Forces Pension (upload)
     5. Bank Statements – last 6 months showing payment of my pension (upload)
     6. Certified copy of the picture page of my passport (upload)
     7. Text Messages screen shots evidence in a Word document (upload)
     8. Email screen shots evidence in a Word document (upload)
     9. Photos of Lynn and I x 3 scanned and in a Word document (upload)
   10. Visits and holiday (cruise) evidence scanned and pasted into a Word document (upload)
   11. Divorce certificates (upload)
   12. Our marriage certificate (upload)
   13. Lynn’s current and previous passports (upload scanned copes of the photo page and post the originals)
   14. Lynn's biometric document (upload a scanned copy and post the original)
   15. Passport photo x 1 (Lynn)
   16. Return poastage label from UPS
   17. Downloaded, completed and printed visa application forms (post)

Thank you.

Bob
