ILR (Set M) soon - couple questions
« on: August 01, 2019, 07:09:13 AM »
Hi All,

Long time lurker here and always searching through the thousands of posts to try and save asking the same questions as others!

We are finally at the 5 years in the UK soon to put our ILR (Set M) application in and have saved up the money to pay for it but have a few questions. I have been online and done a dummy run of the application answering the questions etc but not submitting too.

1. Hubby started his 5 year counter when he entered the UK on 22nd Sept 2014 so reached the 5 years on 22nd Sept 2019 meaning we can apply from 26th august. My question is that we get our payslips around the 25th/26th of the month so are we okay to use Feb - July payslips etc as the 6 months financial evidence or do we need to wait until we get the August payslip and corresponding bank statements to apply (I’m worried that the 26th July payslip will be more than 28 days before the application date and I’m sure I remember from previous applications that the latest  documents need to be dated within 28 days of the application?) ideally we want to get the application done on 27th August and get an appointment as soon as we can as hubby is going abroad for work on 25th Sept!
2. The corresponding documents/letters to show living together - so it’s 6 over 2.5 years which is roughly 5 months apart. If we apply on 27th august are we okay with:
Aug 2017
Jan 2018
July 2018
Nov 2018
April 2019
August 2019

and if we end up pushing the application back into October does it then need to be:

October 2017
March 2018
Sept 2018
Jan 2019
June 2019
October 2019

Other than that I think we are pretty much set to go - just keen to get it over and done with now!

Thanks in advance x

Technically 28 days before is 25th August 2019.

You are correct all documents need to be dated within 28 days from the application date. This would mean your payslip and all documents must be dated later than 30th July 2019 if you plan to apply on 27th August. This means that you need your August payslip no matter what date you apply.

Do the payslips state the pay period for which the wage is being paid? (eg. 1st February 2019 - 28th February 2019). Your payslips must cover a FULL six months. So if they do not state the pay periods you will need 7 payslips meaning:

February 2019
March 2019
April 2019
May 2019
June 2019
July 2019
August 2019

Regarding correspondence you need evidence dating from February 2017, as it is 2.5 years, not 2 years as it is for FLR(M).

So ideally you need:

February 2017
July 2017
December 2017
May 2018
October 2018
March 2019
August 2019 (bonus)

Just for your own information the new system is:
1) Apply online (as you've been doing) and submit application.
2) Pay for standard (est 6 months) or expedite fee of an additional £800 (24 hour turnaround)
2) Book your biometrics at Sopra Steria
3) Scan and upload the documents. Sopra Steria can do this for you depending on the centre you choose for your biometrics or pay an additional cost.
4) Attend biometrics
5) Sopra Steria officially submit your application and scanned documents to UKVI

So, if you're tight for time, you can pay £800 for the 24 hour turnaround. We did that for ILR and we received the decision within 5 hours the following business day.

Great thanks so much for clarifying - I think I already knew we were going to have put off the application but just really dont want to!

He is flying out of the country on 25th Sept so to be able to include the August payslip and corresponding bank statement we wont be able to apply until at least 13th Sept (as the bank statement showing the August payment isnt released until 10th August and takes a few days to come in the post - we wont be able to get a mini statement done, our banks are really annoying!) and I think that is all just cutting it a bit fine for him having to go away really (we are planning on doing the super priority but I have seen on previous posts even this can drag out some times) We might as well just wait until he is back on 5th October (To be safe) and apply around the 13th October with the March - Sept 2019 payslips and corresponding bank statements etc. His BRP doesnt run out until 9th January 2020 so still plenty of time.

Thanks for the note about the 2.5 years of docs, will adjust and correct to the below for the October application;

April 2017
September 2017
February 2017
July 2018
December 2018
May 2019
October 2019 (bonus)

Much appreciated as always x

I understand the stress it brings and the attraction of 'just getting it over with' but if you're tight for time and the added stress with your husband leaving then I think the decision to leave it until October is probably right.
