Can my Sponsor leave after I submit ILR Set (M) Application?

After I submit the ILR Set (M) application, can my sponsor (wife) leave the UK?
I've tried to find info on this but have been unsuccessful so far.

She's attending to matters in Gibraltar at present. She'll be returning to the UK when I submit, but she needs to be back in Gib ASAP.
This isn't a work related issue by the way.

Is there a rule or law concerning this?

This is really just my opinion, Cliff, but if your wife is a UK citizen then I think she can travel where and as much as she needs to.

Obviously you wouldn't be able to travel but I don't see how her movements would affect your application.

They'll be looking at all of the info you're submitting to satisfy the FLR(M) requirements, but your wife's travels, then or now, wouldn't factor into that.

(Hope I'm understanding the question properly.)

We were thinking along those lines but looking for a rule concerning that situation. I thought maybe someone had run into this before.
On my first arrival into the UK at LHR, I was asked to have a seat while they ran my "Leave to Enter" Visa through the computer. They asked if my sponsor was in the UK, I said yes. They then asked where is she now, my answer was right outside waiting for me. They said "Welcome to England".
