Heathrow egates
« on: November 13, 2019, 12:40:19 PM »
Hi all
We are about to travel out of Heathrow to Denver and then on return were hoping to use the egate, do we know how this works yet with regard to the BRP card or do you just scan your US passport just like your other half scans there UK one and in you come?

TIA

It didn’t work for me but some have had success. Mine passport wouldn’t scan and I got directed to the desk but it was fine. Took way less time than ever.

The very first time I used it it didn’t work. I had to go see someone. The Immigration Officer asked the usual questions, asking why I went to the US and what I do here.

The next time, the gates worked. I don’t know if because their system showed I had a spouse visa they wanted to verify info or it was just the luck of the draw.

To answer my own question....... both wife and stepson went through egate at heathrow with no issue whatsoever just scanned the passport same as me and through they went.
