Thanks!  It's a lovely day here today, so I'm just back in from a walk. Tired, but worlds better than I was.

My appointment letter for the echocardiogram came - I'm due in there next month. I think it's pointless, but I'll follow through with it.

It's worth it. I wasn't having many symptoms and my echo showed I could have had a stroke without treatment. I was glad they started monitoring me!

Definitely worth having one. It is always good to have a detailed look at the structure and functioning of the heart. When I had one about 18 months ago I asked the technician doing it if she could confirm that I had a heart, and if so would she write a letter to my wife saying so.

I wanted to sample mine for music.

So, they did the echo a few weeks ago. I just took the wear-it-for-24-hours monitor back today.  I assume I'll get a letter saying they didn't find anything. Which is not surprising - I really don't think it was my heart. Something else is going on that waxes and wanes.

Oh, well. Until the other shoe drops, I guess I won't know. If I go back to the GP it'll be another several months before I get to a specialist. And given that she insisted on me going to cardiology, I can't imagine who that specialist will be.

Pulmonologist?

How are you feeling these days, Nan?

If you present at A&E while having an episode, they will take it seriously. They don't mess around with things like that when it's going on and could be a sign of a heart attack or similar. But I hope it was just a virus and doesn't come back!

The echo may show something though. I have wonky heart valves and wouldn't have known without one.

I'm ok. Tired, but ok. Feeling on and off anxiety a lot, but that's almost assuredly from what's going on around me, not my health.

I asked for a pulmonologist in the first place, as I have a significant history of serious lung disease.  ::)  So I got sent to a cardiologist.

Still nothing, so I assume that I'll be getting a "we didn't find anything" letter in the mail. I was told to expect a phone call if they had found anything.  ???

That sounds similar to what I was told when I had a mole and 2 lesions incised last year. After several weeks waiting for test results I called and was told that the detailed letter was going to be sent out but that there was nothing to be concerned about. The letter came a few days later. I really don’t know why they can’t call with a results summary as soon as they know.

With blood tests at my local GP office I get online next day to see the results myself rather than hang around waiting for a call.

So, ummm, how long does it take to get the letter in the mail? I still haven't heard anything back. I assume all is ok, but....?

Chase it. I've had to chase every referral and test result in the last few months. Admin staff seems to be repeatedly dropping the ball.
