FLR(M), Part 2
« on: November 20, 2019, 01:30:51 PM »
Hi there,

Quick recap: I arrived in the UK with my fiancee visa on May 26th, 2017, got married August 19th, 2017, and received my first FLR(M), BRP, etc. On November 3rd, 2017. The time is drawing near when my husband and I must renew the FLR(M).

What all documents/evidence will we need?
FWIW, he changed jobs once in the last 30-month period, and went three months without a job between April 1st and July 1st of this year. I took a job as an agency carer assoon as I was granted permission to work, and have maintained steady almost-full time hours, but worked full time plus while my husband was between jobs. Will this situation prove a hindrance in making our FLR(M) 2 application?

We also changed address in March of this year, and the house we moved into is in his name (due to complications of buying a house on a temporary visa). I am registered with our council as residing there, of course.

Will we be alright?

Many thanks,

Rachel

The earliest you could apply for FLR(M) is April 5th I believe (if your current BRP is valid from Nov 3 2017, 30 months is May 3 2020 and 28 days before that is April 5th)

Will either you or your spouse have been earning £18600/yr in a job held for 6 months straight at that time? If yes, you can apply category A. If no, you would likely use category B. You'd only need to include both incomes if you need them to meet the financial requirements.

The documentation will be much the same as it was in 2017, with mail evenly spaced across the previous 2 years in both your names to prove you've lived together. When it's closer to the time you apply definitely post a list. You now have to scan your documents yourself or pay for Sopra Steria to do it, and biometrics are through them as well so that part is a bit different. I'll be right behind you when I apply for my flr(M) :)

FLR(M) = Further leave to remain (on the basis of marriage)

If you enter on a spouse visa, then there is only one FLR, then ILR (Indefinite leave to remain)

If you come in on a fiancee visa then there are 2 FLR, then ILR.
