Change in application process
« on: November 23, 2019, 09:16:46 PM »
Hi everyone :) we are finally settled (somewhat) after being in the UK for about 6 months now. My husband has settled into his new role at work and our kids are all in the SAME school which was no small feat!

My in-laws are now back in the US after having lived in North Africa for the past 14 years and she is filling out her spouse visa. She lived here in the late 80’s for 5-7 years with my FIL on a spouse visa, but they have since lived in the US and other various countries. Anyways, all that to say I just logged into her application and everything is soooo different from when I applied in February. I just want to make sure I have my info correct, but she just needs to fill out the online application and doesn’t have to worry with an online application plus appendix 2 or does she still need to do appendix 2 just as I did? Thanks so much! Ps I’m loving it here...XX

Yeah, the whole online application system has changed now.

The old Visa4UK website has been retired and you apply online through the UKVI website instead now. This means that there is no more Appendix 2 form... it has been incorporated into the new online form (which should have been done years ago, to be honest).

New online form:
https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/apply-visa-type/appendixfm?_ga=2.74630682.908993821.1574530620-128352145.1574425017

See this post for more about the new system and how you book biometrics, send documents, scan them now, as it changed on November 7th (there's now a fee if you want New York to scan the documents for you):

Hi ksand24 I just had a follow up question about the appendix 2 form. We are helping my MIL upload the documents on the VFS site and I noticed it has a section for Appendix 2. Do we need to upload any documents to that section now that appendix 2 is no longer a separate form but incorporated into the application? Do we upload the application now to fulfil that?

I'd like to know this too!

Didn't know there would be a section for uploading Appendix 2. Thought I'd read repeatedly that had been phased out.

FLR(M) was approved
Applied without solicitor, digitised and uploaded docs myself
Paid for Super Priority and got same-day result
Best advice: Start your actual application online a year out, best way to really find out what you need

Priority Spouse Visa, applied from USA:
-Online application submission - 19 Dec 2019
-Biometrics taken (walked in a week early) 20 Dec
-Online application received in Sheffield email - 23 Dec
-Decision email on 20th January 2020 (18 WD)
-Pp arrived on 22nd Jan (I provided my own UPS return label/envelop

I understand that the appendix 2 form is now part of the main application, but in the VFS system it has a spot to upload the Appendix 2 form. Do we need to put the application there in that section or leave it empty? I really want to make sure we have this right. I am sorry to keep bothering, but really need clarification if at all possible.... @larrabee can you clarify by chance??
