Seeking help on specific questions on ILR application
« Reply #15 on: December 16, 2019, 10:14:33 PM »
I will just add that the current online application asks what your "current" job title is, what your "current" salary is, and when your "current" employment began -- it felt dishonest to state 2017 as that would imply I had that job title and salary from the beginning. However, the next question is "have you worked for this employer for more than 6 months", to which I answered "yes".

But your ‘current’ employment did not start then, it started in 2017... so surely, to put any other date than that 2017 date is dishonest?

My current salary started on April 6th 2019, but my current job title started in August 2011 and my current employment started in October 2010 - so those are the dates I would put for those questions:

I was employed as a trainee with my current company in Oct 2010 (current employment start date), I qualified in Aug 2011 (current job role start date) and I have been in the same job role ever since, however, my salary has changed several times since 2011 (current salary start date is April 2019).

Again, not sure how it's dishonest based on wording of question (repeat of "current" and question about how long you've worked for your employer) and the fact that my job title is now different -- but to be very safe, I outlined why I put this date in my covering letter, added all relevant employment dates, and this was also clearly outlined in my employer letter.

My current pay is quite a bit above what I was originally hired on (though both were above the minimum). A bit perplexed by this reply to be honest.

The online application wording is quite confusing, and I had answered to the best of my ability (as a native English speaker) at the time, based on the question as they were written.

I submitted the application and had no option to amend before seeing the reply from Shelsis and your assertion that "current employment" does not mean "job title and salary" but "start date at current employer".

As such, I added a very clear outline in my covering letter and this was covered in my employer letter as well.

I don't see how your reply is at all helpful -- it's actually just going to give me a great deal of anxiety about the application.

I think I'll be checking out of this forum for a bit! Thanks for the help regardless.

Woah woah, nonmerci. I totally understand your anxiety. The way they word these applications are just more and more of a mind f"**. But Ksand24 is just giving you the best advice she can. Ksand24 has saved both my applications before. No one can really know what goes through the Home Office's minds when looking at our application, and hopefully it won't really matter as you've given an explanation and you meet the income requirement regardless.
Believe me hun, I get the anxiety. I still don't know whether to put my husbands job down as permanent or temporary.... I keep getting different advice with each new person I ask. So either way I do it, I will be anxious. But everyone on this forum is just trying to help, especially Ksand24._Please try to remember that hun.
