My partner and i are planning on marrying in the US(thanks to the advice in here about skipping the fiance visa if possible) in June and applying for a spouse visa immediately afterward.

Our question for the community is whether it will reflect poorly on my visa application if we have a friend or family member in the US officiate our wedding via one of those online services that allow anyone to become a minister or some such instead of the traditional route of a judge or religious figure.

Do you think that will be a red flag in terms of relationship authenticity?

thank you!

Welcome!

The wedding needs to be legal in the US, that's all. They don't ask who officiated.

Of course you will still require your other proof of relationship.
