Question About UKVI Appointment - Super Priority Service
« on: February 13, 2020, 03:02:33 PM »
Hi,
I'm having a bit of a panic attack.  For my ILR Set M application, I paid the extra £800 for the Super Priority Service.  I was a bit annoyed that there were NO free appointments available anywhere in the UK (I'm in Kent and it was showing me appointments all the way in Manchester!) within the date range allowed for selection.  I paid £69 for my appointment, but it's listed as "Standard Appointment".  I really want to log a complaint after this process is done, because after paying for the visa and then Super Priority, it seems to be taking advantage for the third party to then charge additional money for a standard appointment.  In any case, the instructions say to bring original documents in case anything was missed.  Does anyone know if I do, in fact, have document checking service included with my appointment?

Secondly, even though my appointment says Standard, I just want to confirm that my application is still Super Priority and I should hopefully get my decision within 24 hours.  Does anyone know anything about this?  I saw something on another website saying that if your appointment says standard then the decision times are the normal decision times.  I don't think that is correct, but wanted to check!

Hi TexGirl,

Unfortunately, free appointments do get booked up very quickly so it can be hard to grab one. I do think some people on the forum have managed to get them by waiting and continuously logging back on to see if any were available.

If you booked with an Enhanced Service Point (starting range of these appointments is £69), then you will have access to a document check and uploading service. I had one of these appointments, and the Sopra website did say it was a "standard appointment". But when I went to the centre for my appointment, I was offered the service if I needed it. I didn't have any missing documents so I didn't ultimately use it.

And it definitely was still a super priority turnaround as I got my visa approval about four hours after my appointment.

They do NOT make it easy. I think all the free appointments go pretty quickly when they are released. Reports are coming in of people being successful after midnight.

You paid the £800 to UKVI for priority processing whereas you paid the £69 to Sopra Steria to essentially deliver your documents to UKVI.  So you should still get the priority processing as it's a separate service.  But make sure to check at your appointment, for peace of mind. The recent experiences coming in are that the people at the appointments are helpful and efficient so you should leave feeling comfortable!

Hi everyone.  Appointment done! Whew! It took 10 minutes and the staff were really friendly.
The lady who did my biometrics said all of the scans looked good.  So fingers crossed UKVI has everything they need.
I’ve done super priority.  Does anyone know what happens next? Do I get an email tomorrow?

Thanks for the help everyone.

Glad it went well :).

Not sure how long the email will take - a couple of people recently got their approval email within 4 or 5 hours of their appointment, whereas others have received their email the next day.

I believe what happens is that you get an email within 24 hours telling you if the visa has been approved or not... and if it has been approved, then your BRP should be delivered to your house within 10 working days.

Lately it seems that applicants with morning appointments have been hearing the same day and those that have had afternoon appointments have heard the next day.

Should I begin to worry?  My appointment for ILR Set M was 11:30 yesterday and I have Super Priority.  It seems many people say it's 24 hour decision, but I think it may actually be by the end of the next business day.  Is that correct?  Does anyone know if they send batches out at certain time intervals throughout the day or if they send them as and when all through the day?

I did get a bit over excited yesterday hoping I'd qet lucky with a quick same day decision, but I did realise that was probably overly eager.  But I'm truly beginning to worry now.

Do not worry, the 24 hours is pretty loose. They have been much better lately but no need  at all to be concerned.

As far as I'm aware, the emails go out individually.

I have received the Indefinite Leave to Remain granted decision email!  THANK YOU SO MUCH to all of the experts and helpful people on this board.  This was the third time I have used this forum for such excellent advice.  I think I was more nervous this time for some reason.  Now, I need to recover from the fee and just go ahead and do citizenship!  Thank you everyone!  :)

Congratulations, Texgirl!

I think many of us find ourselves more anxious about the ILR application than previous ones.  The going theory is that, even though we're super experienced at applying for visas now, by the time we've invested five years in our lives here the need/desire to stay is that must stronger.  So it should be the easiest one, but is often the most stressful one simply because more is riding on it.
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)
