FLR(M)

Hi! It's been awhile since I've been on here but I'm veryhappy to see I still recognize a few of you.

I'm applying for FLR(M) this year. Whoa time flies! A lot has happened (and not happened - still not a UK licensed driver lol!) but sure to say I am very happy about our family's move to Scotland so far. Loving Edinburgh!

I'm starting this process early so I'm not stressing later.

First,
I entered the UK on May 10, 2018 (date stamped on visa vignette) So is the earliest I can apply for FLR(M) on Oct 12th?
My BRP doesn't expire until Jan 2021.

Second,
I've collected quite a pile of mail. Am I on the right track so far? Are the sources official enough? Are the dates spaced out OK?

May 2018 -
Husband: Letter from Electoral Registration Officer (31/5/18)
Me: Letter from Jobcentre Plus (11/5/18)

Nov 2018 -
Joint Council Tax bill (22/11/18)

May 2019 -
Joint letter from Scottish Gas (not a bill dated 3/5/19)
Or
Husband: Royal Bank of Scotland credit card bill (20/5/19)
Me: Letter from Legal & General regarding new UK pension plan when I part-timed at Sainsbury's (15/5/19)

Nov 2019 -
Husband: NHS Appointment letter (27/11/19)
Me: Letter from HMRC (24/11/19)

May 2020 + Oct 2020 - pending

By the way, does UKVI need all the pages (for example, credit card statement has 5 pages) or can I just send over the first pages showing our names, address, and the date of the correspondence?

Third, we're most likely going to meet the financial requirement through my husband's job. Category A - with current employer more than 6 months, person residing in the UK.

Are the requirements still the same? The guideline I saw online is dated Aug 2017.

- Job contract showing annual salary of at least £18,600 (applicant only, no dependents)

- My husband has not changed jobs since we moved here. We only have his original contract from 2018. His salary has changed though due to small annual increases. So do we need to ask for a new contract with his latest salary? Or can we use the original contract from 2018 + the letter from the employer stating his title, length in job, permanent status, new annual salary?

- Bank Statements and Pay Slips covering the full 6 months period prior date of application. For example, if applying Oct 12 then bank statements need to cover the period from April 11.

- We have all original Bank Statements mailed from the bank so we don't need them to be stamped by the branch.

- The payslips are only electronic copies so we need a letter from the company to confirm these are authentic.

Lastly, my husband owns our flat. What document do we need to submit? In our first application he was only renting so we submitted paperwork from his previous landlord.

I make it October 13th (28 days before November 10th).

However, you might want to apply later rather than sooner to give yourself more time to apply for ILR in 2023... especially if you are planning to use the 24-hour Super Priority service. If you apply in October and you get a quick decision, you may only have a window of a few days to apply for ILR before the FLR(M) expires.

You only need to cover the 2 years before you apply, so say you are applying in October/November 2020, you need to cover October 2018 to October 2020. The documents need to be spread every 4 months.

So for an October application, you want mail from the following months:
October 2018
February 2019
June 2019
October 2019
February 2020
June 2020
Optional extra: October 2020

Or if you apply in November, you would want documents from:
November 2018
March 2019
July 2019
November 2019
March 2020
July 2020
Optional extra: November 2020

A December application would require mail from:
December 2018
April 2019
August 2019
December 2019
April 2020
August 2020
Optional extra: December 2020

And a January application would need mail from:
January 2019
May 2019
September 2019
January 2020
May 2020
September 2020
Optional extra: January 2021

So you might also want to base your application date on what months you can cover with the correspondence.

You now scan and upload the documents, so I would scan every page.

Yes, they haven't changed since July 2012.

No, send the original contract, and then have the employer letter state his current salary. If his salary has changed in the 6 months before applying, UKVI will only consider the old salary (the lowest salary in the last 6 months), so the employer letter will need to state the old salary, new salary and date of increase.

You need his Land Registry document plus his latest original mortgage statement.

I believe the online application also asks for your latest council tax statement as well.

ILR - Oh right. I don't plan on using any priority services this time but late December will probably be the best time to apply so my FLR(M) doesn't expire before ILR.

Land Registry - So I went to Registers of Scotlands' website at www.ros.gov.uk and found the Title Sheet for our address. It shows my husband as the owner and that our mortgage is with Halifax.
For £3 I was able to get a digital copy of the Title Sheet. Is this sufficient? Or do I need to apply for the official extract which they'll sent to me by mail costing £30+VAT?

Latest Council Tax Bill - OK, thanks for the info. We have not been getting these in the mail even if we request it online so I stopped asking. I will get on top of it ASAP.
