Life in the UK test- booking questions
« on: February 21, 2020, 10:25:08 PM »
Hello Good people!
My questions are simple but you know how worried you get over simple things with this whole process! I'm filling out the online booking for the Life in the UK test and I'm using my Biometric Residence permit card for ID.
1. It asks for my "document ID number", Does that mean the little # in the upper right corner (of the Biometric Res. Permit card) or is it the longer number with letters on the back? or do they mean a different document?
2.  Home office reference #? I've seen numbers on the letters they've sent in past but ?? Am I supposed to have a reference number?

I tried to search through questions before starting a thread but couldn't find exact answer. Hope you can help!
Thanks!
Mary :)

Hi Mary!

It would be the number on the front of your BRP. I don't know what to tell you about the home office ref no though. As far as I can remember, that wasn't asked for when I made the life in the UK test booking and in the actual visa applications I always just left that field blank but they are really fussy with Life in the UK test identification stuff, so I don't know.

Just checking that you are on the official .gov page? https://www.gov.uk/life-in-the-uk-test

There are other pages which claim to be official but are not, just like when applying for a visa waiver to the US.

Hi Larrabee, been a long time eh? Thanks for your reply, I'm going to take another look at it later, I hope it saved what I was doing as I sort of just stopped last night. I'll leave the case number blank, that sounds right to me.

I'll let you know if I get it booked ok, and I'll open the link you sent just in case.
