That’s great :).

Though it is concerning that they’re not carrying out any checks or screening.

I flew in through Edinburgh today. Just went right through the Egates.  No one looked like they were being checked or questioned unless they had a passport not accepted at the Egates.

Please keep in mind that she CANNOT use the NHS.  I hope she has EXTRAORDINARY travel insurance for this, as I would think booking the flight after this has been declared a pandemic would make her insurance null and void....

COVID-19 has been added to Schedule 1 for the NHS. Meaning that this is one of the infectious diseases that it is not in the interest of British citizens, for people to walk around with untreated in the UK and is therefore bill free for the NHS.

https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/nhs-visitor-and-migrant-cost-recovery-programme

Regulations came into force on 29 January to add coronavirus (COVID-19) to Schedule 1 of the NHS (Charges to Overseas Visitors) Regulations.

This means, as for any other infectious disease in Schedule 1, there can be no charge made to an overseas visitor for the diagnosis, or, if positive, treatment, of this coronavirus.

No charge applies to a diagnostic test even if the result is negative.

No charge can apply to any treatment provided for suspected COVID-19 up to the point that it is negatively diagnosed.

It is very important, for public health protection, that overseas visitors are not deterred from seeking treatment for COVID-19. Please ensure that:

overseas visitors are not charged, or informed that charges may apply, for the diagnosis or treatment of the coronavirus
patients that are known to be undergoing testing and treatment for coronavirus only are not subject to Home Office status checks
