Ticked wrong box on Citizenship Application!
« on: June 30, 2020, 09:13:20 PM »
Help! Have I totally screwed my application? I mistakenly ticked that I hadn't had my fingerprints taken as part of my initial visa application back in 2011 (just found the receipt from the appointment, I'm such a dummy).  Will this stupid error cause my application to be refued or will they use common sense when going through my application? I was going to upload the receipt to my UKVCAS docs just so at least there's a record to prove that I wasn't deliberately hiding anything.  Am I totally overreacting?? Please ase my mind guys! x  :-[ [Came to UK to join fiance on tourist visa in 2010, married April 2011, mistakenly attempted to file for FLRM from within the UK May 2011 (don't make our mistakes kids!), returned to US and FLRM properly applied for and granted June 2011, ILR applied for August 2013, ILR granted October 2013, Naturalisation application submitted June 2020/sub]

I would include the receipt and cover letter explaining the mistake.

They will know it’s mistake anyway, because it’s physically impossible to get a visa without having your fingerprints taken for each application.... they cannot even start processing the application until after you have given your fingerprints.

Ah thanks so much for replying, yeah I thought that would be the case.  This forum was so helpful for us the first time around so I'm super grateful it's still alive and kicking! I'm sure this won't be my last post haha! xx
