I submitted my application on 29th March - a mere 2 days after the 27th March cut-off for the current batch of applicants whose appointments are being processed  :\\\'( - and will have to wait till the next batch to book and appointment, probably.

Will update here when I hear from them.

Keep hanging in there! I know it’s such an odd time!

So in latest news, I received an email that said I don’t need an appointment because I’m eligible for re-using my biometrics. Just have to send a facial image when they sort out a system. I guess this will expedite things a fair bit as only first time applicants will need an appointment now.

I applied for ILR on April 15th, and I also received an email today from UKVCAS saying they will use my previously done biometrics, thus avoiding another appointment.

I haven’t received any other communication regarding my actual application however.

Have you already uploaded your documents onto UKVCAS?

Can I just ask those who have already had the letter saying they will not need to attend an appointment to collect biometrics where their previous biometrics were taken, inside or outside of the UK?
Hopefully it will not make any difference as these biometrics have been stored on the biometrics permit.   I still don't understand why the photo cannot be used - the UK issues childrens passports for 5 years and adult ones for 10 years - these biometric photos are just 2.5 years old for FLR (M) visas!!

Mine were taken in the US for my first BRP, I'm applying for my first FLR(M). Application submitted May 18, 1st visa expired in June.

Thank you Margo - assume you have not yet had the email confirming you don't have to attend an appointment as you submitted a week after we did, have all your documents been uploaded as well?

We just got the email telling us we will not need to attend an appointment at UKVCAS they will contact us with details to upload an image.

UKVI have identified you as being eligible for this new approach involving biometric reuse.

Importantly, this new digital approach means you will not have to attend an appointment at a UKVCAS Service Point.

We are also working closely with UKVI to develop a new way for you to submit a facial image. Once this is launched, you will have to submit your facial image as part of the identification verification process so that, if leave is granted, UKVI will be able to produce your new biometric residence permit (BRP).

We will be in touch over the next few weeks with the details of this new approach and to confirm next steps.
