Do you have a valid national identity card?
« on: July 22, 2020, 11:04:00 AM »
Hello Everyone,

I am new here, May I ask my first question please....

I am working on my ILR application. There is a question asking 'Do you have a valid national identity card?'

I do have a non-EU identity card,it's in my own language. It's no use and never used in the UK. Should I answer 'Yes'?

If I answer 'yes', should I submit the scan of the card, and a professional company's translation?

In the Documents section they only ask to submit:
'All previous passports, travel documents or national identity cards that you have used to travel to or remain in the UK'

I am not sure what they really want. They didn't ask this question in my two previous paper form application.

May I ask if anyone could help me to clarify how to answer this question.

Many thanks

I see the dilemma.
I would be inclined to answer "yes"  for completeness, even though you have not used it in the UK, but not send a copy, or translation. Although I don't think it would hurt to provide a copy of the card. Either way, I wouldn't get it translated.

Welcome to the forum.  :)
