We used cash savings to satisfy the financial requirement for our initial spouse visa and are planning to do the same when we apply for the extension.

The account is based in the US and is sent to my parents' address in the US.  Will that be an issue when we apply to renew the visa?  I don't think the bank will accept a UK address and we'd prefer to keep the funds denominated in US$ for the time being.

Thanks!

That's fine, as long as their names are not on the account.  Just explain why you have not changed the address.

@harcm we were thinking of doing the same for our extension but opted to go the employment route. Unfortunately, we don’t have original paper copies of our US statements and thought it’d be too much of a hassle to get certified copies and/or a signed letter from Charles Schwab. Hopefully that’s not an issue for you. Good luck to you!

Thanks FLgator86.  Yes - it might be a challenge to get the statements.  I was in the US when we submitted the application for my initial visa so it was fairly straightforward.  I'll have to do some research to be sure we can get the statements in the UK.

Best of luck to you with your renewal.
