Sponsor Passport Proof for spousal visa
« on: July 25, 2020, 03:49:15 PM »
Hi, I've just had a search but could only find this https://talk.uk-yankee.com/index.php?topic=26647.msg982196#msg982196 and it didn't really answer my question.
According to the document checklist from UK Visas & Immigration we need a copy of my bio data page, her passport, proof of relationship and one "proof of British Citizenshipship (such as passport or UK citizenship certificate) to be provided to their commercial partner. It says below that "any passports provided must be the originals".
She's got to attend an in person meeting...does she need my passport? Ideally I wouldn't post my passport over to her and it's not very practical for me to get over there either at the moment....are there any options or do people post their passports around the world for this?

No, don't send your passport. A copy is fine. Hers must be original.
Presuming you mean the biometric appointment when you mention the in person meeting.

Thanks.
Yes, she has a biometric appointment but she also needs to provide the documents. Very confusing how it says they need proof of my citizen ship (ie passport or citizenship certificate) and that any passports provided must be originals. Sounds like you're saying it really means "all applicant passports must be original....but sponsor passports do not"?
