FLR(M) Extension
« on: August 30, 2020, 01:22:34 PM »
Hello,

Back again! Preparing to submit the first extension of my FLR(M) which expires according to BRP on 13 October 2020.

I get paid on the 15th of the month, so am planning to submit shortly after 15 September. We will be taking my finances for this visa. I have a contract that expires March 2021, will that be an issue?

Since our last application, we've bought a property that we live in together. As we were renting last time, I'm unsure what documents we need to prove our accommodation. Our mortgage statements are all online, so I'm thinking we need to go to the bank to either have them print them out or get them signed/stamped? Do we also need land registry docs?

From last time, I also have things on the document list like passport photos of me and husband and healthcare surcharge receipt; do we still need these?

I understand the process is: submit application online;  pay;  register for UKVCAS; book biometrics appt; upload supporting docs; attend biometrics appt. Is that right?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome back :).

No, that shouldn't be an issue as you still have 5-6 months left on the contract.

You need:
Evidence of homeownership:
- Land Registry Document (if you don't have the one you were issued when you bought the house, you can download a copy from the Land Registry website for £3)

Evidence of monthly housing costs:
- latest mortgage statement (the electronic copy should be okay to use)
- latest council tax bill

Passport photos are no longer required.

You enter in your new IHS surcharge reference number when you fill out the online application, so as long as you have the reference number, you shouldn't need to include the receipt as well.

Pretty much, though due to Covid, the process has changed a little bit.

Currently it is:
- submit online application and pay for the visa by October 13th
- register for UKVCAS
- wait for UKVI to email you to let you know whether you need to attend biometrics, or if you are eligible for your previous biometrics to be reused instead of attending an appointment
If you need to attend biometrics:
- wait for an email inviting you to book an appointment
- book an appointment (currently I believe only the £110 appointments are available and there is a wait of a few weeks for them)
- attend appointment
If you are eligible to skip biometrics:
- wait for an email inviting you to register with the new app they have introduced where you can just submit a new photo and documents instead
- register with the app and upload your photo and anything else you need to

How to upload documents
- you can upload your supporting documents to the UKVCAS website while you are waiting for the emails about biometrics/the app
or
- you can upload the documents to the app once you have had an invite by email and have registered with the app
or
- if you are attending a biometrics appointment, you can pay extra for the documents to be scanned and uploaded at the appointment

See here for more information about biometrics/the app:

Hello again! Thank you so much, that's so helpful.

I've just checked and because we haven't been here a year yet, we only have a list of transactions, but it seems to have all our personal details on it. Will that work?

Our bank statements (for financial proof) are all online (it was a term of the account or I'd have paper!). Because it's now all scanning, do we still need to have these printed/stamped/signed by bank?

My payslips and P60 are also all online, do I still need my work to send a letter confirming all terms of my employment, legitimacy of P60 and payslips etc. on letterhead with wet signature?

Thanks!

Also, we had to get my partner's passport page copy certified (I think the bank did it) last time, do we need to do that for our passports this time or just upload?

In that case, I would include your official mortgage agreement that you were issued when you purchased the house.

Yes, they must still all either be stamped by the bank on every page, or accompanied by a letter from the bank confirming their authenticity.

Another option, if you are able to, is to order the back-dated statements to be mailed out to you... that way you won't need to get them stamped.

Yes.

The letter must include all of the following:
i) current employment and salary
ii) length of employment
iii) length of time earning current salary
iv) type of employment (full or part-time, permanent or temporary etc.)
It will need to verify the following for each payslip:
- Pay date
- Pay period
- Gross Pay
- Net Pay
- Date paid into bank account
- An explanation for any discrepancies between payslip date/amount and bank deposit date/amount (i.e. if you were paid on a different day due to a weekend/bank holiday)

Also, we had to get my partner's passport page copy certified (I think the bank did it) last time, do we need to do that for our passports this time or just upload?

No, you just upload a scan of every page of:
- applicant's passport
- any previous passports the applicant has held since moving to the UK (i.e. if you have renewed in the last 2.5 years)
- sponsor's UK passport

Don't forget you also need your 6 items of correspondence/cohabitation in each name, dated every 4 months, from at least 3 different sources, for the last 2 years. They must be mailed documents, not online, and must have been received in the post in the months they were issued.

So, if you are applying in mid-late September, you want 1 document in each name from each of these months:
Sept 2018
Jan 2019
May 2019
Sept 2019
Jan 2020
May 2020
Sept 2020

Thank you, helpful as always. Been chipping away at the application and am confused what to answer for 'How long have you lived in the UK?' given my time as a student (2011-2015) and then settlement. Should I just put the time since I entered on a fiance visa?

Another questions that's confused me is what countries have you lived in outside the UK - should I put in my time in US into pre-student and post-student times (i.e. birth-2011, 2015-2017)? Thanks in advance!

Apologies, one final question! How long will I have to upload documents once receiving an invite to the app for UKVCAS?  Is there a deadline that starts after I submit the application form? Thanks!

When you submit the online application, you will receive an email with a registration code for the UKVCAS website. You use the code to register an account, and then you wait to receive an email from UKVI telling you if you need to book biometrics or if you can use the app instead. After registering with UKVCAS, you have until the day of your biometrics appointment or the day you use the app to upload the documents.

You have 3 options for uploading the documents:

1. You can upload them to the UKVCAS website at any time between registering with UKVCAS and attending an appointment/submitting using the app

2. If you are invited to use the app, you can upload the documents to the app itself when you submit a new photo

3. If you attend a biometrics appointment, when you book the appointment you can purchase the document scanning service and they will scan and upload all your documents for you at the appointment

The process continues...

My BRP expires tomorrow, I applied 23 September and my biometrics is 30 October. I'm pretty sure I'm covered by Section 3c leave...but it would be great to have that confirmed by the experts on here?

Also, I've uploaded all my documents to ukvcas, do I click the scary 'submit' button before my biometrics appointment or wait until after?

Thanks

Yes, you are covered under Section 3C Leave.

It needs to be done before you attend the biometrics appointment. So, you have until 30th October to press the 'Submit' button.
