FLR Paperwork - Unique Situation?? :)
« on: October 22, 2020, 07:27:51 PM »
Wow, the past 2 years have absolutely flown by!!

I'm due to apply for my FLR next August and I've been putting away bank statements, NHS notes etc for the past 2 years. It's been a really hectic few years so I haven't given it much thought  :-[  I've now realised that I may be in a somewhat unique situation re: paperwork etc.

It's my understanding that I need to have evidence/documentation for every 3 months or so and this should be in the form of bank statements, Dr's notes, or bills in our name. Is that correct?

My husband and I have a joint account but we get seperate statements - we each get monthly statements for the same account with our individual names on it (if that makes sense!).

The challenge is going to be the bills etc. We work in his father's freehold pub and live on-site...accomodation is included in our employment contract. As such, we have no bills in our name and no receipts for rent, mortgage etc. And it's not really possible to get them in our names as it's an LLC company and everything is in the business name and at business rates.

So my wonderful, knowledgable community! Please help! Would it be suffecient to submit an employment contract stating accomodation and utilities etc is included in place of bills etc?

Thank you guys so much for your help x

You need 6 documents in each name, 1 in each name dated every 4 months from at least 3 different official sources, for the last 2 years ending with when you apply for FLR(M).

So, say you apply in August 2021, you will need 1 document in each name from each of the following months:
Aug 2019
Dec 2019
April 2020
Aug 2020
Dec 2020
April 2021
Aug 2021

You can use the following:
- bank statements
- credit card statements
- payslips
- NHS letters
- HMRC letters
- DVLA letters
- DWP letters
- TV licence
- water bills
- electricity bills
- gas bills
- phone bills
- TV/internet bills
- tenancy agreements
- mortgage statements
- council tax statements

So you could use 10 individual bank statements and then you just need 2 other documents, from 2 sources.

If you are unable to provide 6 in each name, or you don’t have 3 sources, or they are not dated every 4 months, you need to write a letter of explanation for why you cannot provide them.

Ideally you really needed to get at least one or two bills put into your names as soon as you arrived in the U.K., so that you would not be facing the problem of having nothing in your names now.

If there is anything you can get put in your names, I would do that ASAP, so that you are prepared with some more documents by the time you are ready to apply.

I notice from your previous posts that you arrived in the UK in late August 2018... that means you will reach 30 months in the U.K. in late February 2021. It also means that your visa should expire in May 2021, not August 2021.

You can apply for FLR(M) as early as 28 days before you reach 30 months, which means you can apply from late January 2021 onwards. The latest you can apply is your visa expiry date, which should be around May 2021.

Okay just to make sure I am clear - if between the two of us we are able to produce bank statements, NHS letters, DVLA letters, and payslips would that be sufficient?

In addition to the correspondence, which forms part of the relationship requirement,. you will also need to provide proof that you meet the accommodation requirement. So for that, you should provide the contract and draw attention to the relevant portion, I would also include a letter from the employer to this effect.
You do not need bills as long as you have at least 3 other sources.

That's more than the required minimum of 3 sources so, yes.

You guys are, once again, true lifesavers!!! Thanks so much, we shouldn't have any problem getting all this together but I'm sure I will be back on here with more questions in the next few months :)
