Fiance Visa paperwork Questions/ Document Check
« on: November 26, 2020, 12:30:22 PM »
Hello and thanks for all the help.
I am going to America after Christmas and I am paying for a 6 week application. Since I will be quarantining before my bio-metrics appointment and sending my passport after that, how long does it take on average to receive one's passport back after sending it to New York? (if there is such thing as an average time for this)

Document Check:
I have or will soon have the following:
Is there anything I am missing or am doing incorrectly?
Thank you!

Handwritten letter from sponsor

TENANCY AGREEMENT
I have a photocopy of a black and white copy of the tenancy agreement. Is this okay? It is 30 years old so I am impressed that I got it at all, lol.

Waiting on Letter from Landlord with Wet Signature

DLA paperwork showing weekly amount received

PAYSLIPS
My fiance' has 2 jobs.
I (will)  have 5 mailed payslips for one of the jobs and 1 printed-out payslip.
How do I prove the printed out payslip is genuine?

The payslips from the other job are all copies from the internet.
How do I show that these are genuine?

I know the employer must write a letter detailing his employment. Do I need more than this in order to prove the payslips above are genuine?
(waiting on December payslips from each job)

Will get Letter from (both) Employer(s)

6 months stamped bank statements  (waiting on December)
Will get these stamped after I get December statement

Evidence of Weekly Rent amount from the council beginning in April 2020

Waiting on latest Council Tax Evidence

Divorce Decree

Proof of Relationship  2 photos of us together, copy of card sent in 1990, copies of emails from about 10 months, copy of boarding pass from July this year

Proof of Planning to get married
Emails from registrar giving us venue dates and also stating that our church has an approved person who can register our ceremony

(if there is such thing as an average time for this)

It takes as long as it takes for the visa to be processed by Sheffield, then for New York to issue the visa into your passport, and for them to mail it back to you.

You said you are paying for priority processing, so hopefully your visa will be processed within 30 working days... and I'd allow for a few days after the decision has been made to get your passport back.

For your documents, I'm just going to arrange them into the different requirement sections:

Applicant Documents (these are mailed to New York)
•  The first page of the applicant’s Visa Application Form (not sure if this is strictly needed)
•  Stamped biometrics confirmation sheet (will be stamped at your appointment)
•  Your US passport
•  Priority processing receipt
•  Return shipping label
•   Return packaging

The following are all uploaded:

Applicant Documents
•  Probably worth scanning your US passport as well as sending it
•  Scans of all other previous passports you have held

Sponsor's Documents
•   UK passport
•   Sponsor letter of support (should be typed, then printed and signed, before being scanned)

Financial (Adequate maintenance)
•   DLA paperwork
•   At least 1 bank statement showing DLA payment deposit
•  Evidence of weekly rent and council tax payments
•   6 full months of payslips, the most recent dated no more than 28 days before your online application date (you will likely need 7 months worth to cover the entire 6-month period)... if any of the payslips are electronic, they must be verified in a letter from the employer
•   6 full months of bank statements,  the most recent dated no more than 28 days before your online application date (you will likely need 7 months worth to cover the entire 6-month period)... if any bank statements are printed from online banking they must be stamped/signed by the bank on EVERY page
• A Letter from each employer, dated no more than 28 days before your online application date, confirming ALL of the following:
i) current employment and salary
ii) length of employment
iii) gross pay
iv) net pay (after income tax/NI contributions)
v) type of employment
vi) verification of any online payslips included with the application

Accommodation
•  tenancy agreement
•  letter from landlord

Proof of relationship
•  2 photos of you together
•  Divorce Decree
•  scanned boarding passes from July
•  scanned letters/cards sent to each other... if you have any
•  screenshots of email inbox showing emails sent to each other... no email content should be included, just dates, names and subject lines... no more than 2-3 pages total. So just filter your inboxes and take a few screenshots covering the 10 months

Evidence of Plans to Marry
•  Emails from registrar giving us venue dates and also stating that our church has an approved person who can register our ceremony

Are you saying I should print out the first page of the application and scan it?

How much is a return shipping label?
I think I saw that it is supposed to be an electronic shipping label?
Do I get that at UPS?
And is return packing a padded envelope or?
Thanks!
Kathy

Honestly, I don't know - the site is a bit confusing and I'm not even sure if you need to do that or not.

You'll have to see what the scanning instructions tell you to do when you are ready to upload your documents.

You purchase your shipping labels from the VFS Global website at the same time that you book biometrics, purchase priority processing and upload your documents. The shipping labels offered by VFS Global are prepaid UPS labels.

There are a couple of different shipping label options to choose from:
- Return shipping only (so you have to sort out your own shipping to New York through UPS), which costs $45:

- Round trip shipping, which costs $75:

It's up to you - you include whatever return packaging you feel is best for your passport to be returned in.

It ends up that I am going to do the option of it taking up to 12 weeks. I am not doing premium service.
Standard service at a Department of Homeland Security Application Support Center: pay 2091.00 USD now. It takes up to 12 weeks for most people to receive a decision.
Do I still buy them online? If so, do I print them out? Or are they sent to me? I thought it needed to be electronic. Whatever that means. . .
To have your passport or any other documents returned, you must provide a fully addressed UPS prepaid electronic shipping label as we cannot accept non-electronic shipping labels. You must your return shipping label is inside the package, and to keep a copy of the shipping label for your records.

Thank you so much for the links.
I just saw the following which helps me think thru what to do:

Customers are advised to use the provided UPS round trip courier service as is offered on the VFS shopping cart. If you choose not to use this service, you may use the prepaid shipping of your choice to mail in your documents, but please ensure to provide a UPS shipping label for document return.

*We are unable to accept FedEx return mail labels.
Your passport and supporting documents should be shipped to/from the following address following your biometric enrolment appointment:

VFS Global UKVI Visa Processing Hub, 145 West 45th Street, Fl 5, New York, NY 10036

The VFS Global UKVI Visa Processing Hub, does not see any applicants either on walk in, or appointment basis

Action Required: Prepare your package using UPS Express Pack or UPS Express Pad Pack envelopes to ensure safe delivery and then take your documents to your nearest UPS location

Thanks for all the help. It is greatly appreciated. . .

Also, how do I physically get the label in my hand?
Do they mail it to me?
If not, I will need to find access to a printer while in San Diego. . .
Library computer lab is closed, maybe a Kinko's. . .

You will need to print it out yourself.

You’ll also need to print the following:
- possibly the first page of the application form with the barcode on it, if it tells you to after you have applied online
- the receipt for Settlement Priority Processing
- your biometrics appointment confirmation letter

The appointment confirmation must be taken to your biometrics appointment, where they will stamp it to confirm you have given biometrics. You then place the stamped sheet (and your passport and the other printed items) in your package and mail it to New York.

You won’t be able to print any of the above until after you have applied online once you are back in the US as they will not be generated until after you have submitted the online application form.

I read your stuff (and wrote it in a notebook) at least 4 times before it finally seemed to stick in my noggin and make sense to me. . .  ::)
I probably have too much on my mind, lol   ;)
Thanks again for your patience and dedication to answering me!

Hello!
On the letter from employer, I have a few questions:
We are going to write a sample letter and put it on a thumb drive for his employer to use and print on company letterhead and then sign.
This is what we have: Comments?

This is to certify that Mark xxx xxx  is employed with our company, [name of company and receives £ [x,xxx.xx] gross income, £ [x,xxx.xx] net income per year.
National Insurance contributions have been paid for this year ending in April 2020, in the amount of £xx.xx
Mark xxx xxx has been employed with our company since [mo/day/yr]
Sincerely
Employer
Position in company

My Questions:
Does this look correct?
Do we need the AMOUNT of NI Contributions paid?
If so, from when to when? (April 2019 to April 2020?)

Thank you!

I realized last night that I had read the information wrong and so was asking a question that does not make sense. I thought it was asking for confirmation that NI Contributions had been paid! ::)
