Hello!

I am hoping you all can help point me in the right direction to get help with filing my US taxes. I am a US citizen living here in England on a FLR Visa. This is my first full year in the UK and I think I will need quite a bit of help filing my taxes. I have had a job here for the majority of the year, but I don't think I've made enough to be taxed on it, so hopefully it will be pretty straightforward?

I was given a recommendation for an accountant last year, but I cannot seem to get a hold of them now. So does anyone have any companies/accountants they have used and would recommend?

Having looked a little online, I have seen Taxes for Expats and Ingleton Partners. Does anyone have an experience with these companies?

Any advice or help would be much appreciated!

Thank you!

Here is a list to look at.

No personal experience with them.

Hi I use Greenback taxes and have done since my company stopped paying for E&Y to do them in 2016! I have found them very  good. I guy i use is based in Fl and very responsive. It costs about $450 per year, for me it was worth it as my return was not straightforward.

If it is just you filing without owned property or kids you may want to consider H&R Block free online service for expats. That is going to be my day on Monday! I habe not explored it yet but looks promising. Even if you have property and such it still could be. I have just found the prices for tax prep here is insane.

I used Tax Advisory Partnership https://www.taxadvisorypartnership.com/ when I had a non-standard issue with a tax return one year and they were good - very responsive to questions. It was super expensive at £1200 for me as someone who has a fairly average income, so I haven't been able to use them regularly. I found this price to be fairly standard for the UK based places I contacted and some places just didn't seem interested in my custom at all (presumably because I wasn't a high net worth individual??).
