Hi All,
I have lurked on a couple of posts for ILR Set M, but I genuinely cannot find what I'm looking for
I'm on a 5 year spouse VISA which expires this September. I will be applying for ILR set M. Where in the world are y'all finding a documents checkoff list or guidance?? I keep going to the gov.uk site and for ILR Set M it just goes directly to the BETA online application. I've made my own account and started but it doesn't let you look forward to see what all you'll need. You can print off the incomplete form but it doesn't look right. The only mandatory documents it states:
Passport
Partner Declaration
Proof of Finances (only says 'Recent')
Current Biometrics
Previous Passports
Life in The UK
That doesn't seem right to me. Most folks here seem to have LOADS of documents squirreled for their ILR M visa! I certainly do not have have 2.5 years, post per month! We do paperless. Even my work payslips are electronic... Where are y'all getting these checklists from??? HELP PLEASE
Welcome
.
The application doesn’t show you a document list until after you have finished the application and even then, it doesn’t post everything you need. So best thing to do is ask here and research the guidance on the UKVI website so you can gather all the documents before you start the online application.
Did you come to the U.K. on a regular 33-month spousal visa which you renewed after 2.5 years, or a 5-year Armed Forces spousal visa?
The reason that most people have documents already sorted for their ILR is because they came to the U.K. on a 33-month spousal visa or married in the U.K. and switched to a a 2.5-year FLR(M) and so they already needed all those documents for their 2.5-year FLR(M) visa renewal before applying for ILR, and were aware of the need to save their documents.
The accommodation and financial requirements for ILR are mostly the same as they were for your original spousal visa application and for FLR(M) (just a couple of differences).
For the relationship requirement, you need your marriage certificate plus evidence of living with your spouse in the U.K. for the entire length of your current visa, namely 6 official mailed documents in each name, spaced evenly over the entire length of your current visa, from at least 3 different sources. So if your visa is valid 5 years you need 1 mailed document in each name dated every 10 months from Sept 2016 to Sept 2021.
