Submitting Bills for Proof of Residency
« on: June 07, 2021, 10:58:31 AM »
Hello
Just a quick question, when I submit bills addressed to each of us to show proof of residency, should I just submit the first page that shows our names, address, and date, OR do I need to send all pages of the entire bill?
Just trying to mentally prepare ahead of time!
Thanks!

Make sure you also keep the originals which were sent through the post, just in case they have any problems with the scans you submit.

When are you planning to marry? As soon as you have your marriage certificate you'll be able to apply. The sooner you do, the sooner the 5 years will be over.  I'd get on with things as quickly as possible.  :)

And make sure you pay out of pocket and get receipts for ANY and ALL NHS services. They are NOT covered while on a fiancé visa and can lead to a  denied visa.

3c leave is not great on a fiancé visa. While you can remain in the country without leaving, you still cannot work, volunteer, use the NHS, study, travel etc. So really you want to apply for your visa as soon as you possibly can!

We have a registrar appointment on the 18th so as soon as possible after that. July 17 or 24. Yes, we want to but I thought we needed more bills. Missed the ones that come every three months.  And they wrote Mr K for me on council tax when it should be Ms Kathryn. Waiting on a corrected one I think. Got a second with just his name and a different account number and it said it was closing.  We are guessing they are closing one and opening another(?)
Also sending in paperwork for bank tomorrow and got me on NHS today so waiting for a letter in the mail from them.

I will keep all paper bills.
Thanks!

For the fiancé visa, it doesn’t matter if you don’t have enough bills, because they won’t be expecting you to have been in the UK long enough to get 6 bills in your name yet when you apply for FLR(M).

You just need to send all the bills/mail that you do have and then include a letter explaining that you have only been in the country for a short time and have not been able to gather enough mail in your name yet.

Payslips and P 60
« Reply #9 on: June 15, 2021, 03:57:04 PM »
He receives all his payslips and his P 60 online. Do I need to print them out and get them signed? do I need to print out the P60 and take a photo of it? Or maybe there is one that was sent to his work...
Just wondering if the digital copies of any of these are okay?

On a side note, I went to sign up for NHS and was told that I need to wait until I am married (which totally makes sense to me) but that I could get it temporarily as possibly needed.

Printed digital copies are okay but all the payslips and P60 must be verified in the employer letter. The payslips/P60 do not need to be signed or stamped.

You shouldn’t need to wait until you are married, because your fiancé visa is a settlement visa that allows you to extend and therefore live here long-term.

The only difference is that with the fiancé visa, you will have to pay for your treatment instead of getting it for ‘free’, and then once you are married and have FLR(M) you will have paid the IHS surcharge and will be entitled to ‘free’ treatment.

Unfortunately, the reception staff at many GP surgeries are unaware of the rules surrounding people with visas and often give out incorrect information, like telling them they aren’t entitled to register when they actually are.

Thanks for the info on the payslips and P60.
What do you mean by "printed digital copies"?  Do you mean print them out and take pictures?
How are they verified in the employer letter?
I noticed that when I printed out one of his payslips, they are blank where it should read "Tesco"
Does it matter if they are black and white and not color?

Also, that is good to know. I can't recall if we talked about my visa. Not sure if that would have helped since they don't seem to know...
Thanks for that information!

Sorry, I was thinking of when the application documents had to be physically mailed.

Now, though, just uploading the digital files should be fine... as long as the employer letter verifies that they are authentic.

The letter should state the following for each payslip:
- pay date
- gross pay
- net pay
- date deposited into bank account
- an explanation for any discrepancies between the payslip date and amount and the bank deposit date and amount (I.e. if payment was made on a different day due to the weekend or a bank holiday)

As mentioned above, they don’t need to be printed, just the digital files uploaded.
