ILR submitted today
« on: August 24, 2021, 09:03:50 PM »
Went for UKVCAS appointment this afternoon in Liverpool.  Was a bit crowded but only because everyone waits outside & there's only a tiny patch to sit on.  They were running about a 1/2 hr behind today as there were several families -- almost a tag team event if everyone had to be processed with a family of 4 broken down into mum & 1 kid in then coming out & then mum going back in with kid #2.

I paid the £72 +/- & took everything in for them to scan.  I had the QR code & passport ready when they came outside to check & log me in.  I had the checklist at the front of a folder & had sectioned each portion of paperwork into a sleeve with a sticky note saying what it was to match to the list.  You don't have to do this but it made the day of the people I had & they said how much they appreciated that it was easy to see what was what & queue it up for the scanning.

And their scanners were double side at once so could just roll through a few sheets at a time easy pease.  Anything that couldn't go through that scanner was done on what looks like a desk lamp scanner.  The photo taking is painless although you will feel the overwhelming "gotta blink" pressure LOL  The fingerprinting can be tricky as that scanner must have absolute dry fingertips pressed on it.  However it does have 4 tiny light up buttons that show green dots for perfect & orange or red for not perfect.  If it's just 1 non green dot you just need to adjust whatever finger matches it.  I had 1 orange on Left hand & just needed to press that finger down a bit more.  Then they just looked at each finger afterwards to check for any scars or open cuts as they have to note this on their screen paperwork.  Mine were fine but they were chuckling at all the weird extra non-scar lines that cut through every one of my prints.

Think I was there about 90 mins but as they were running late I didn't go in until about 15 mins +/- past my schedule.  Nice surprise when I got home & unpacked the rucksack & found they'd put all my paperwork back into the separate sleeves.  Thought was the very kind of them.

All in all it was a good experience with people who were kind & patient with my neurological issues & embarrassing stammer.  I feel good that I don't need to worry that I'm having to rely on all my important papers going & possibly getting lost in the post.

Now it's just the upwards of a 6 month wait for results.
