Last night we had mustard-and-herb-crusted pork fillet with dauphinoise potatoes and steamed broccoli (a meal I put together for my husband's birthday dinner in June, and has since become a near-weekly regular... how do I top this next year?!). The great thing about this meal is we always make "too much dauphinoise" (as if that's a thing!). The greater thing is lunch the next day is dauphinoise-and-sausage burritos!
I love when our lunch is warm leftovers (in a tube), and not just cold "salad tubes" (our default lunch is chopped lettuce, tomatoes, and a few shavings of mature cheddar, with a drizzle of mayonnaise and some cracked black pepper, rolled up in tortillas... it's really tasty, but a hot lunch is just so much nicer). Earlier this week, we made "too much Bolognese" and had something like sloppy joes on some bread rolls I made on Monday. Messy, but delicious. We had to stand at the worktop in Utilikitchen Cafè to eat those.
