Do you need a marriage visa if you already have FLRM?
« on: September 01, 2021, 09:16:01 PM »
Hi everyone,

I'm currently in the UK on my 2nd FLR(M) visa. My partner and I are engaged and were meant to be married in New York in April and then again this month - both postponed due to Covid.

We're now looking at just getting married quietly by ourselves here in Scotland and having our "wedding" with friends and family whenever the world allows again.

Something I've not really been able to find an answer to is whether or not I'm allowed to get married in the UK to a UK citizen, whilst on FLR(M) visa? Am I supposed to apply for a separate fiance or marriage visa or something?

Any advice would be much appreciated!!

Thanks!

Looked at your past posts and saw you have an unmarried partner visa.  No, you won't have to reset the clock after you marry.  You should be able to marry without too much trouble, all depends on who you speak to at your registry office.

Your visa gives you permission to live in the UK with your partner, so marrying that same partner is absolutely allowed.   :D
