About to submit, please please help.
« on: October 25, 2021, 10:05:53 AM »
Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is doing well. I was hoping if someone has time, please can my checklist be looked over? Am always afraid I’ll miss something.  This is for my ILR, SET M. It’s hard to believe it’s finally time for this. I wouldn’t have made it this far without all the help this forum has given me.

It’s just me submitting as I’m hitting the financial on my own. Life in the UK test done, and reference number input.

Passport-both of ours
My BRP
Marriage certificate
Signed deceleration by my partner
Documentation spanning 2019-now

Cohabitation- some joint, some single, different sources following the set M guidance

May 2019 - September 2019
October 2019 - February 2020
March 2020 - August 2020
September 2020 - January 2021
February 2021 - June 2021
July 2021 - Present

Landlord has us on a rolling periodic to avoid fees so have a letter from him confirming he knows I live here, when we moved in, who lives here, etc. Also including a copy of council tax in cohabitation documents.

6 months pay slips (April to October)plus letter from employer confirming: (I think they use a template)- posted out to me:
Period of employment
Most recent job title
National insurance number
Contract type- permanent
Salary
Start date of current salary
Previous  salary
***have to print this off ourselves as HR in my company is working from home***

6 months bank statements printed signed and stamped from bank branch.

Thank you so so much to anyone who can have a look over this for me before I submit it.

Just going to rearrange your documents into the correct upload sections for UVKCAS. Any missing documents are in red, my comments are in blue:

Application documents
- your passport
- Signed deceleration by my partner

Proof of Identity/Travel History
- Partner’s Passport
- My BRP

Residence in the UK
Accommodation
- Official Tenancy agreementthis is the most important document
- letter from landlord confirming rolling tenancy, if this is not stated on official tenancy agreement
- latest council tax bill
Cohabitation
Can you list every document, including the date, type of document and who is named on it?)
You need documents from each of the following months:
March 2019
August 2019
January 2020
June 2020
November 2020
April 2021
October 2021

Finances
- 6 months pay slips (April to October)… you need to make sure the payslips cover every single day of the 6 months. So if the April payslip is dated 30th April, your October payslip MUST cover 31st October
- 6 months bank statements printed signed and stamped from bank branchagain they must cover every single day of the 6 months (i.e. 30th April to 31st Oct)
- Letter from employer
Optional but recommended:
- latest P60
- job contract

Other
Marriage certificate

Hi,

Thank you as always! I’ll be sure to update the cohabitation letter after work so it can be checked. On the dates, I applied for my FLR in April 2019, and it was approved in May. Does that change the need for documents from March 2019 bring needed?

Also, we have our official tenancy from last year but this time, the landlord didn’t want to use the agency so he’s just written out this- the date will be changed. Just removed some bits for privacy only.

Do you think this will be okay?

It’s a bit of an awkward one because the application says to cover cohabitation ‘since your last grant of leave’ but I believe the document list says you need 2.5 years worth of cohabitation… so we normally recommend covering the full 2.5 years with documents spaced every 5 months.

If that’s tricky for you to do though, you’ll likely be fine with the months you mentioned.

You need to include the original tenancy agreement, as it has now converted to a rolling tenancy, and the letter will then accompany it. The letter on its own is not a legal document allowing you to live there, it’s just a confirmation of the tenancy agreement.

Brill, we can do that. Thank you so much for your help. You’re a godsend. I’ll update the documents we have later but I’m glad everything looks good so far.

Hi,

I’ve been looking through the documents and this is what we have- please can you advise if this would work?

Cohabitation
May 2019 - September 2019- joint, nationwide bank notice
October 2019 - February 2020- 1  solo Yorkshire bank statement for him, 1 nationwide solo account for me.
March 2020 - August 2020- home insurance for me, nhs letter for him
September 2020 - January 2021- joint Yorkshire water bill in
February 2021 - June 2021- joint, council tax
July 2021 - Present- 1 pet insurance letter for me, 1 pension letter for him

Also, I noticed the payslips and letter from my employer were stamped when I was looking through my old documents. That won’t be possible, nor can they be sent by post due to working from home. Would you just explain that in a cover letter, please?

Thank you in advance for any corrections.

If at all possible, your cohabitation post items should be evenly spaced.  Instead of one thing from anytime in a several-months span, the actual date they were sent should be at regular intervals if you can.  (As you have it listed, I don't know if your documents go from one in May 2019 to the next one in February 2020, which would be a gap of 9 months!)

For the months where you and your partner don't have a joint item, the separate ones should be as near in date to each other as you can... ideally in the same month.

That’s excellent, thank you. No problem to follow those directions for the post.

What about the HR stamp since we’re working from home? Please can you tell me if that should be okay, as far as you know?

You’re a star, thank you.

I'm not sure what concessions they're permitting with Covid, so hopefully some more up-to-date will verify this, but I think the letter still requires a 'wet' signature on it.  The payslips don't need to be stamped, but if your payslips are virtual, they do need to be authenticated by the employer... I think that's done by having the employer letter list the details of each payslip (pay date, pay amount, etc.), and then the wet signature (i.e., the signature is ink on paper, and the letter is sent through the post).

Hi thank you,

I’m not sure how to get a wet signature when we’re all working from home but I’m in HR so will speak to my manager about it.

Thank you very much. A few things to sort out then we will submit. Appreciate it.

A digital signature has been fine for the employer letter during the last 1.5 years of Covid.

If they are able to mention in the letter that it is being signed digitally due to working from home, that should help.

Ah, thanks, Ksand24.  I really do need to pay more attention to the changes before I go responding to posts.
