« on: December 23, 2021, 01:02:01 PM »
This message from the Home Office was in my email this morning.

Your application for indefinite leave to remain in the UK has been successful.
It's official!

I GET TO STAY!!!!!

I applied on 23 Aug 2021....Exactly four months for decision.  Best EARLY CHRISTMAS PREZZY EVER!!!!

And we can't go celebrate as we're still in Covid quarentine until the 27th.  But Still . . . .

My new card with my new status has just arrived!

Moment of panic over the  31 Dec 2024 expiry.

But this crappy year is ending on a positive note.

Congratulations :D.

Nothing to worry about :). All ILR visas are now issued to expire on 31 Dec 2024, due to a change in the laws for biometrics cards which comes into effect on 1 Jan 2025.

If you apply for UK citizenship before then, it won't affect you anyway, as your ILR BRP will be destroyed, but if you decide not to apply for citizenship, then you'll just need to renew the BRP in 2024 to get a new-style card.
