Chinese supermarket finds
« on: November 01, 2021, 01:46:33 PM »
Hi guys... i was in the Chinese supermarket yesterday and came across a couple of interesting items that some of you might be interested in.

They had bottles of corn syrup... like white Karo, which is useful for baking and also great on pancakes & waffles.

They also had tins of creamed corn!!  This was a big one for me, as i've been craving it and had watched a few youtube vids on how to make it, but it looked like too much bother.  I bought 3 cans!  ;D

I bought creamed corn from our Chinese supermarket a few weeks ago. I was very happy!
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

The other day i poured a can of creamed corn into a box of Jiffy corn muffin mix and baked it ... OMG!  If i say Marie Callender's cornbread, will any of you know what i mean?  Not sure if that's just a California thing.... it has a sweetness to it and it's very moist... it was perfection!  Highly recommended  :)
