Update on ILR appointment today

We submitted our application on 9 February and the first appointment we could get within a reasonable timescale was 100 miles away from home in Chelmsford. (We had used this location last time also because it was the soonest appointment when doing FLM).

Received the confirmation email three days ago that all docs had been successfully uploaded in all the right sections and no additional action needed (it also says that if no further action needed you don’t need to take your docs with you, but my OCD self took them anyway!)

3.5 hour round trip drive for a ten minute appointment! Quick in and out for fingerprints and photo and they also scanned all pages of passport again even though these had been uploaded to the portal.

We had paid the extra for super priority processing (stayed up til midnight and snagged an appointment as soon as they were released - magically there were free appointments available to we got one of those). Received email 4 hours after the appointment today in Chelmsford today to say ILR approved.

This is a very organised and friendly location and there is also a nice Premier Inn right next door to go for coffee or a meal before or after,  or for family members who can’t accompany the applicant to wait in. Parking is very close just beside the train station and we paid £3 to park for 3 hours (less than 2 minute walk to the appointment office).

Which just leaves us to say a mega thank you to everyone who helped with answers to my questions along the way - now just citizenship and then we are done done done.
