Marriage allowance for non-citizens
« on: March 18, 2022, 11:10:14 PM »
Hi

I'm just wondering about the marriage allowance and if it is considered a public fund.

So my spouse (UK citizen) would be able to transfer some of her tax free allowance to me (US citizen) but I just want to be sure that it isn't considered a public fund or anything like that.

Does anyone else use the marriage allowance?

Thanks

It's fine to use the marriage allowance, it's not public funds.
