BRP Card - Biometrics Missing?!
« on: April 12, 2022, 11:39:43 AM »
Hi all,

My wife got her FLR(M) granted and new BRP card back in July 2020 during the initial bout of the Covid-19 pandemic.

We travelled for the first time since then earlier this year, returning to the UK this weekend. Upon our return at immigration, the officer informed us that her biometrics (fingerprints) were missing. Apparently this happened to a whole bunch of cards processed during the pandemic.

He advised that as we had paid for a service which we had not received that we should contact the Home Office and ask for a replacement card. He told us that in future she risks being questioned or experiencing lengthy delays at immigration, which would be an inconvenience.

I have two questions regarding this. Has anyone else been through this and how was your experience in getting an updated card?
Would my wife still be able to use her current card if she has to travel again and a new one is in the post?
