My ILR application was submitted last night at 1:01 a.m. with super priority. That appears to be about the time that these slots are released.

I did manage to get one about a week ago for later this month. I had to stalk the site a bit, after checking at midnight it seemed like there was nothing there, but I was able to get one after 1:30AM.

Our turn to await the magic priority portal. I will report back with details as soon as I have them. I am not sure if the early hours will be made easier or harder, given that Beth arrived back from US family visiting late last night and is still on Eastern time, and we didn't get home until 2am because the slip road to the M25 via M4 from Heathrow was blocked for overnight roadworks and we ended up weaving through London with two navigation systems arguing about which way we should go.  ::)

I am very glad to be in good company here and ever grateful for the exceptional expertise...

OK - success at 1am exactly -tried at 11pm and 12.15am just in case.

Super priority option came up - selected and paid that and then we were directed to the booking site for appointment options.
We selected the basic option one (of four options available, but business option was for groups only and VIP option was over £2000 extra! ) The basic option could also include add on extras like document scanning when booking.
We managed to get a reasonably nearby location 43 miles away. Each venue had information about whether extras were available like 'express'.

The soonest appointment available at the venue we selected was in 10 days at 7.30am, after that there were quite a few the following week, including some free ones. There were a lot of free ones on a Saturday in four weeks  (that Beth can't make). We selected a Friday free one, but it became unavailable within the few minutes it took to view and select it.

We settled on one  in three and a half weeks that was £81 for express appointment and paid extra £54 for scanning just for peace of mind that it will all be uploaded correctly.

The only tip I would pass forward, as well as confirming that the magic 1am portal works, is that there are quite a lot of options to be ready to choose quickly - distance, day of week, time of day (I was not expecting we would have much choice), standard or express, document scanning or document checking service. The free slots can go fast.

Best wishes,
Emily
