Please can someone help ease my mind. If I have lived here for 10 years and do not have the original passport with my original visa, do I need to upload anything under proof of living here, or will this just be obvious by my current passport?

Hi!!

I just received my citizenship approval. It took 4 mos and 12 days to receive.

Question: I am trying to book my ceremony and my local authority is asking for my poll cover number? What is this and where can I find it?

Thank you !!

If you google "poll cover number" which I just did, there are quite a few hits. I won't link any here as none are official and I don't have time to read them through but it looks like it's just your reference number.

Quote
The poll/cover note number is the strange term denotes one of the two references that appear on UK Home Office naturalisation/biometric confirmation documentation. Home Office naturalization/biometric reference poll/cover note number comprises the first letter of the applicant's surname + 7 digits.

It came!

Just wanted to pop onto the thread as my approval email came through end of business day yesterday! Thanks to everyone who helped me complete my application, especially since I've had such bad anxiety about it. Email was from Home Office, so I'm still waiting for the council invite. The email said I'd get the certificate at the ceremony, but I thought it came in the mail????

Either way, I'm there! Just the passport to go and I'm totally done. Thanks so much again to all!

For timing....Biometrics submitted July 28th, email received Oct 30th. 13 weeks, 3 days. :)

Nope, you get the certificate at the end of the ceremony. Then you'll have to send it off when you apply for your passport. Congratulations!

My wife's citizenship application is submitted and we have a biometrics appt in a couple of weeks. Just uploading documentation and when I was checking this forum for clarification on the question of whether additional proof of living in UK was required on top of passport as many of her entries into UK involved the e-gates at Heathrow, I discovered that we may have answered one of the other questions on the application incorrectly. She has an ILR(M) so we interpreted the question ‘Have you ever made any previous UK immigration applications in the UK or abroad/“ as applying to citizenship applications and not the FLR, ILR visas etc. so answered NO, as it would seem redundant because you must have made those applications to hold an ILR?

However, it is clear from other questions on this thread that the answer should have been YES. Is there any way to rectify this with an email or something or at the biometrics appointment?

Any advice gratefully received!

I would include a cover letter stating that you made a mistake on the application form and giving the details of all the UK visas she has applied for (spousal or fiance visa, FLR(M), ILR).

Thank you so much for this advice. We will do that. We emailed the UKVI online e-support and they suggested the same. Hopefully it will not de-rail things, the whole visa system is quite stressful at the best of times.

Just to clarify the breakdown of those questions: presumably they want to know which visa, where it was applied fro from and dates it was granted etc.?
