1. Copy of current passport
2. Copy of my old passport(is this needed if I never used it for any visa application?)

You only need to include old passports that you have held since arriving in the UK 5 years ago.

- If you initially entered the UK on your current passport, that's the only one you need.
- If you have renewed your passport since moving to the UK, then you include both the old and current passports.

What's the latest date printed on your July payslip and July bank statement? You just need to make sure you submit the online application within 28 days of the earlier of those 2 dates.

1. March 2020- Council tax bill- joint names
2. August/ September 2020- New Lease for flat - joint name
3. January 2021- Council tax change of dd bill- in joint name
4. April 2021- New Lease- joint name( also have electric bill in joint name)
5. June 2021- water bill in my name(he is named as an additional account holder) and sky bill in his name
6. September 2021-electic bill in my name, sky bill in his name
7. April 2022- Council Tax bill- joint name (could also do electricity bill in my name and bt bill in his name)
8. July 2022- Electricity bill in my name, BT bill in his name

The dates of your documents are supposed to be evenly spaced every 5 months, going 2.5 years back to January 2020, so you will need to write a letter explaining the reason why you are unable to provide documents every 5 months, and why your documents don't cover right back to January 2020.

Also, I would take out the April 2021 document because this one is not needed, and taking it out will make your spacing pretty much correct for the first few documents.

You currently have gaps of:
- 5/6 months
- 4/5 months
- 3 months
- 2 months
- 3 months
- 7 months
- 3 months

But by taking out April 2021, you get rid of the separate gaps of 3 months and 2 months, and it just becomes the correct 5-month gap.

So, you would have:
March 2020
(5/6 months)
August/Sept 2020
(4/5 months)
January 2021
(5 months)
June 2021
(3 months) - this one will need explaining
September 2021
(7 months) - this one will need explaining
April 2022
(3 months) - this one will need explaining
July 2022

Thank you for that.

The date of the July payslip is the 29th of July and the bank statements were issued on the 30th.

I thought the 2.5 years was from the date of my last visa being issued which was in Feb. 2020. So my correspondence should look more like this:
1. March 2020- Council tax bill- joint names
2. August/ September 2020- New Lease for flat - joint name
3. January 2021- Council tax change of dd bill- in joint name
4. June 2021- water bill in my name(he is named as an additional account holder) and sky bill in his name
6. January 2022- NEED TO FIND SOMETHING
7. May 2020- Electricity bill in my name, BT in his
8. July 2022- Electricity bill in my name, BT bill in his name (does this need to be included?

Does that work better if I can find the January 2022 stuff? Should I  also  just include a cover letter that post has been difficult for us as we have had a few moves during the last 2.5 years but have supplied what I am able?

Thank you for that.

The date of the July payslip is the 29th of July and the bank statements were issued on the 30th.

Okay, so the date you're working off is 29th July - which means you must submit the application no later than Friday 26th August, or you will need to wait until you have the August payslip and bank statement before you can apply.

I thought the 2.5 years was from the date of my last visa being issued which was in Feb. 2020.

It's a bit confusing because I believe the application says 'since last grant of leave' but then asks for 2.5 years' worth... so we always recommend sending the full 2.5 years, even if it's been less than that since your last visa was issued.

7. May 2020- Electricity bill in my name, BT in his
8. July 2022- Electricity bill in my name, BT bill in his name (does this need to be included?

What you really need are documents from the following months:
January 2020
June 2020
November 2020
April 2021
September 2021
February 2022
July 2022

Having said that, if you cannot find documents for the correct months, as long as you write a letter of explanation for why you can't provide them every 5 months, you can just send what you have and it will be fine and won't affect the application.
