Confused about Super Priority for FLR(M)
« on: August 31, 2022, 01:01:42 PM »
I've seen other people's posts mention Super Priority. I know it's £800, gets you a fast decision and that spots for it open up around 1AM, but I am wondering what it entails? Does it mean that I would bring my passport and all my docs to get scanned in at my biometric appointment? Or is having your docs scanned a separate service from Super Priority? Is it possible to scan your own docs but still pay for Super Priority? Is it worth it?

I am also wondering if the mail/post I plan to use looks okay. It's changed a little in the past few days. My visa expires in 9 days, and I'm getting nervous. It would make me feel better if someone can please confirm this looks okay or if I should change something.

March 2020- Council tax bill in spouse's name, Letter from DWP with National Insurance number in applicant's (my) name.

July 2020- MetroBank bank statement in both of our names

November 2020- MetroBank bank statement in both of our names

March 2021- Council tax bill in spouse's name, Vanquis credit card bill in my name

July 2021- MetroBank bank statement in both of our names

November 2021- Utilita energy bill in spouse's name, Chase credit card bill in my name

March 2022- Council tax bill in spouse's name, Chase credit card bill in my name

July 2022- Vanquis credit card bill in spouse's name, HMRC tax document in my name.

I also have TV Licensing letters from September 2021 and February 2022 in my name that I may throw in as extras and a February 2022 letter from the IRS in my name about my 2021 Economic Impact Payment that I may also include.

I will try and give you a steer until an expert is around.

Proof of co-habitation looks ok, although we usually go with 7 dates evenly spaced over the 2 years.
The Super Priority option is purely the decision + processing speed but does not pertain to document services.

Docs are either:
a) scanned and uploaded by you via Sopra Steria or
b) scanned at biometrics as a separate service from Super Priority for an additional charge (I think £48).

Personally I prefer uploading them myself so I know everything is cushty. The UKVCAS IDV app which you are sometimes offered if you do not go Super Priority is also easy to use.

there is also a doc checking option (£48) where they will check what you uploaded. I used this.

Take a look at the most recent update on this thread. https://talk.uk-yankee.com/index.php?topic=100139.0
Although it is for ILR, I believe the procedure is similar for FLR.

Good luck.

For FLR, unless you have an urgent need to the able to travel, I wouldn't pay for priority. Save the money for ILR when it really does make a difference in that you're then free from immigration control. Whether you receive your FLR in 48 hours or several weeks makes no actual difference, things just go on as they were.

Thank you, larrabee. I have now started my application and was about to pay the IHS fee but realised I didn't put our middle names on the application and was supposed to. It will not let me edit it now. How do I restart the application?

If there is really no way to edit then just include a brief letter with your application providing that information..

That's what I will do. Thank you. :)

I probably shouldn't have started my application late at night after traveling back to London from Clacton-on-Sea.  ::)

I have applied (non-priority) and booked my biometrics appointment for 01 October.

I have started uploading and am wondering if I have to scan/upload every page of my spouse's passport like I did with mine? It is to prove his British citizenship, so is just the page with the picture okay?

No, for in-country applications, every single page of every passport you are including must be scanned, including all the blank pages.

This was the same back when you still mailed all the documents too, so it’s not new - you had to include a full copy of every single page of your sponsor’s passport.

It’s only for the initial application made in the US that you’re allowed to send only the photo page of the sponsor’s passport.

Okay, thank you! I wasn't sure, as this is my first in-country application.

No problem :).

The old paper FLR(M) form used to specifically say that every page of the sponsor’s passport had to be copied but I’m not sure if the online form also says it.

All my downloaded online form (and the checklist) asks for is evidence of his immigration status in the UK. I can't remember if it mentioned the whole passport needed to be scanned while I was applying.

I have uploaded most of my documents. I was a little confused about where to put the employer letter/payslips/bank statements. I upload the employer letter and payslips to the section that says Sponsors/Employment and the bank statements to the Finance section. However, I saw in mbmoffat's ILR thread that he had the employer letter, payslips and bank statements all under Finance. Should I move mine there as well? Is the Sponsors/Employment section for work visas?

The categories titles are imperfect
I paid for Sopra Steria doc checking (£48).  They emailed a few days later confirming "All documents have been uploaded to the correct category"

However I am fairly certain there is some flexibility in where to upload them. So if they are in a vaguely intuitive category I would just leave them as is.

Incidentally the person evaluating our case subsequently asked for financials up to the day before the application, despite them having 2 sets dated within 2 weeks of the application.  We are certain this was a mistake their end and they soon rectified it.

My point is, they sometimes make mistakes, but the process is robust and they get it right in the end.

I uploaded my documents slightly different than you and I got the same feedback on the document checking service.

All the financial requirement documents (payslips, bank statements, employer letter, P60, job contract etc.) should go together in the FINANCES section.

The Sponsor/Employment section can be left blank as it is not relevant to a family path visa… I believe it is for people being sponsored for a work visa by their employer.
