Cancer is a horrible f*****g bastard. So glad there are some options to treat, as sucky and shitty as they're going to be.  You've got this!!  We're here for you, for the good and the bad and the in-between .

Thanks, my emotions are all over the map.  I definitely need counselling and possibly meds from my gp.

I really just want to see my kids grow.  That’s the problem with having kids later in life.

Sending positive thoughts your way.

So glad to read that you took out insurance policies, so that you don't have financial problems as well.

After a few down days, I feel like I have my sparkle back a bit today.

I had my hair cut off yesterday which was hard. No because I care about hair.  But it wasn’t my choice/desire. And makes things real. I think the cut suits me and will be a good transition to bald.

My son is definitely a man in training. When he got home from school, I said what do you think?  He stared at me and said “about what?”

My before from last weekend in London. And my after.

HA! And you've been worried about what he'll think.   ;D

Looks lovely! I know it's a forced choice. But in this, you need all the empowerment you can get

You look great with the both the long and short cut. :)

When my sister went through 2 rounds of chemo and radio last year and into this year. She didn't do the cold cap and didn't lose her hair. It thinned  a bit but the majority stayed in place and the thinning was even over her whole head, not patchy. However, she is a 60 year old great grandmother to 2 so wasn't concerned about losing her hair.

I don't mind losing my hair.  Just hope it doesn't freak my kids out (a friend is doing chemo now and her hairloss has really upset one of her children).

I don't know much about cancer at all.  But I know there are many different chemos and the one I get, I'll likely loose all the hair on my body - except my leg hair which is a cruel twist.  Eyelashes are 50/50 chance.

A lot of people have said the new cut is much more modern.  ;D  I’ve never kept up with trends.

Went to be drained again this morning and they took off twice as much fluid as they have before. They went until the tap was dry (doesn’t mean all the fluid is gone but will be FAR less remaining than before.

They are hopeful that my body will respond well to the treatments and that, possibly, today was my last drain.  If I need it again, no big deal.

I start chemo tomorrow. I was diagnosed two weeks ago yesterday.  Each minute is slow but overall, it’s been mind blowing fast.  I was hesitant to start on a Friday before my parents arrive, but in the wise words of my 8 year old daughter, the sooner I start, the sooner I’ll be better.  [smiley=smitten.gif]. Just on my way home after pre-assessment.  They spent 2 hours with us (me and my husband). I feel so much better than I did before the meeting. Time to crack on.

That's so good to hear. Very, very best of luck for a smooth journey. Thinking of you!
