Do you know any tips or tricks (or medications) for restless legs?  It sounds like no big deal if you haven't had it before, but I am really bothered by it!
Chelated magnesium and b vitamins would be my first thing to try, and electrolyte drinks - but check with the team to make sure they're okay with the rest of your meds. Also making sure your iron levels are good. Some of the meds you're on may mess around with sodium or potassium levels which can really trigger allodynia and muscle spasms, and thats when electrolytes can really help - I use SOS hydration because it's low sugar and tastes good, but there are a lot of brands.

There's a few meds that the NHS can prescribe too, and I know people that have been helped immensely by them.  https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/restless-legs-syndrome/treatment/

Yes, I see the oncologist before my next round and will talk about the RLS and make sure they know it was REALLY REALLY bothersome.  I am enjoying that each time I go in I meet with the pharmacist!  I'm so terrible, I'm like "So, what do you have as today's special?  What's the really good stuff that no one knows to ask for?"  ;D

Oh my file must be covered in "she's dying to be a drug addict" stickers.  I don't believe in suffering or being a hero!  No one should.

ALMOST over not having drugs for childbirth.  Okay, I'll never be over it!

Cancer is pretty much the one condition where they never question what is needed to stay comfortable during treatment!

And I'll be very honest. Because of the system here you have to try and fail a couple traditional treatments, but prescription cannabis is probably one of the safest nausea, pain and anxiety treatments all in one. I use very low doses and it has been significantly life improving. If I tolerated bigger doses it would help pain more, but a tiny dose is enough to knock me out and that's exactly what I need.

I had an excellent checkup with my oncologist today.  She was amazed at how much better my mobility is and breathing.  She just plain thought I looked healthier.  Physically should could feel a difference already with my liver.  It's been 3 weeks since the fluid was drained and only a small amount is there, I'll have to have it drained again at some point as she doesn't expect the fluid to stop until further into chemo.  She said not to push myself physically, just whatever is comfortable.  I am interested in trying my bike for school runs as I think I could cycle without trouble whereas I'm not always sure I could walk it.  Might sound weird, but I think it's worth a try.

They are giving me things to help with all my complaints from the first round, so with a bit of luck, no tummy issues or restless legs (body).

And she's pleased as punch that I'm getting both my flu shot and covid vaccine tonight.  So, I may feel like trash come tomorrow, but at least it'll all be done.

I'll be rescanned and will see her before my 4th round which would mean (if dates don't change) that it could be the best Thanksgiving ever, as 6 weeks from today I'll have that appointment.

I'm just so happy to hear you're responding so well already. That's just wonderful news. Keep up the good work!  :)

That all sounds really promising, sounds like you are responding well to the treatment.

Good luck with your Covid and Flu jabs.  My wife and I had ours 10 days apart and I thought I had no side effects from either but since my flu shot shot on Monday I have had 2 days of crashing headaches in the evenings which I'm hoping is just due to the flu jab because my wife knows a couple of folks in her circle of "knit-wits" who had headaches afterwards.  The CDC also reports headaches as a possible side effect.

My oncologist wanted me to have both well before I started my radiotherapy next week.  Because I had lymph nodes removed, I can’t have anything done to my right arm so had to have both injections in my left.  I did, indeed feel like trash the next day,   Short lived, just 24 hours, but I did feel tired for a few days afterward.  After two surgeries, it seemed pretty minor.

I hear you. I’m done. Covid in the right, flu in the left. I think I made a mistake as with my lung issues I can only sleep on my left and back. But I was thinking dominant arm and I’ve found the flu bothersome in years past.  I’ll get shot up with all sorts tomorrow in my legs and tummy, not to mention the chemo in my new chest port.  So thinking it is what it is at this point.

Even on the days where you question if you can do this, just know that we are all behind you, rooting for you, and knowing that you absolutely can and will.

What weight is your weighted blanket out of curiosity? I was looking at getting one after hearing how amazing they are but it's confusing figuring out what weight is right and not too much or not enough.

The one from Costco!  https://www.costco.co.uk/Furniture-Mattresses/Home-Furnishings-Accessories/Cushions-Throws/Sleep-Philosophy-Reversible-Weighted-Blanket-122-x-183-cm/p/1266288

Will be cheaper in store if they have stock.

Will have a look - thanks :)

How are you feeling today? If your parents need help getting out and about while Malc is at work or anything and need to run errands, let me know. Happy to offer them transport if needed while you rest up.
