IRL - Super Priority - Did I make a mistake??
« on: September 13, 2022, 10:31:48 PM »
Hi all

I've just submitted my IRL application. I wasn't given the opportunity to select super priority as I filled out the form and made the payment.

Did I miss anything??!!  ??? :\\\'( :\\\'( :\\\'( :\\\'(

I’m sorry, but from my understanding you have now applied with standard processing and you can’t change it.

Super premium appointments are like gold dust at the moment and most of us who have gotten them logged in at 1 am to have the option before submitting.

I’m so sorry but I think you will have to do the standard time now unless you withdraw ans resubmit but I think that also can take a few weeks

Yes, unfortunately you can only purchase Super Priority at the time you submit and pay for the application. It is not possible to add it later.

There are only a limited number of Super Priority available each day (about 50 I think), and so if all the slots are gone at the time you submit, you will not be given the option to purchase it.

So, the way to get it is to log on to submit the application at 1am when the new slots are released and hope for the best. If there are none available, you can just keep trying each night.

In your case though, you have already submitted and paid for your application which will give you Standard processing only.

So, your options are:

- keep the standard processing, which can take up to 6 months
Or
- withdraw your application before attending biometrics and apply for a refund. Then start the application over again and resubmit and pay for it, trying to get Super Priority

The withdrawing and starting over can be done right away, but the refund can take a few weeks to come through after that.

See here for how to withdraw the application:

Thanks v much ksand24!

As an update - I withdrew the application and applied on 16 Sept. I was able to get an appointment this morning (with a bit of £££) and got my application approved within 3 hours!! Now I just have to wait for the refund for my first application to arrive in my bank account and the BRP in the mail.  ;D

Question to the people who have cancelled an application from within the UK for an ILR.  How long before you got your refund and did you have to fill out that strange withdraw form that asked for numbers you did not have?  Thank you.

I did fill out that form and the only number I could provide was the payment confirmation number. I haven't got the refund yet. Some people on Reddit said it takes 10 weeks so I will report back in 8 weeks ...

I'm still receiving reminder to book the biometrics appointment for the application I cancelled ... I'm a bit concerned since I'm waiting for naturalisation approval. No way the Home Office can get confused right?

Is the email from the home office or UKVCAS (sopra steria)? If the latter I would just contact them because the systems clearly aren't well linked.

It's from the Home Office Atlas unfortunately :(

Probably worth trying to contact if possible - is there a number on the email for if you have technical problems? I can try finding one in the morning if not (or one of the experts might have one). Their computer systems seem to have some sync issues based on the applications that sometimes just fall out of the work queues.

I went through their contact form and choose technical support:

Problems with your online application
Get help if you:

- have submitted incorrect information in your online application and you need to change it
- are having problems making a payment to UKVI online or pending payments
- are having problems entering your sponsor licence number online
- are making an online application and you cannot log in to your UKVI account
- need other technical support (for example with an error message on the online application)

Email the online help team on ApplyOnlineE-Support@homeoffice.gov.uk.

You must include:

your name
what you are applying for (for example, a Student visa)
a description of the problem
Include screenshots of the problem, if you can.

You’ll usually hear back within one working day.

If you’ve not had a response, check your email’s spam or junk folder before contacting UKVI again.
