Hi everyone,
I'm really hoping someone can clarify something relating to travel ID.
My husband is applying for a spouse visa next year from the US, and only has one passport which is current. He has no prior passports as he has not travelled outside of the US except for some day trips to Canada across a land border, and a trip to Mexico with his mother when he was a child (on his mother's passport).
I am a permanent resident in the US and have lived here for 10 years. My husband and I made many day trips to Canada pre-covid, about thirteen trips in total, each time across a land border. My husband did not use his current valid passport (held since 2017) to cross the border, he used an enhanced state ID card (not a DL card as he doesn't drive).
My question is this: When he applies for the spouse visa does he need to include a copy of his current ID card so immigration can check his dates of travel due to the current passport not being used which would back up his dates of travel? He doesn't have the past ID card which was during the dates of travel.
