Hi all... I've got myself into a right mess and hope someone can knock some sense into me.

1. Just been downloading all the payslips we need (they are issued weekly so its quite a lot) and have realised that for 23 September there are two payslips, one is my husband's normal basic wage and the other is a payment of £23.00 because my husband was underpaid by this amount in the previous week. At first, I thought we don't need to include this payslip but then realised it will still come up on the bank statement and HO will still see it and it may cause issues? Any advice on how to explain it- Could we attach a quick note explaining it? Or should it be mentioned in the employer's letter?

2. As the payslips are online and the employer's letter needs to confirm their authenticity, does this mean the employer's letter should not be dated before the date of the last payslip we are relying on? So our last payslip will be January 6 2023, therefore the employer's letter should be dated on or after this?

Sorry if none of that makes sense- I thought everything was going smoothly and this has just thrown me!

1- I think it should be mentioned in the employers letter.

2- I don't think I have ever seen this question before but it's a good one and it makes sense that you should do it in that order.
The standard:- financial evidence should be dated within the 28 days before the date of the online application, still applies.

Thank you very much larrabee for taking the time to reply.

Yes you’re right I am going to request HR to also mention it in their letter and just to be on the safe side will ask for the letter after the last payslip we are relying on comes through.

Thanks again.

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a good start to the new year.

Have had to go back and forth for the employer's letter and finally its come through today.

This is what they have written:

This letter confirms the above mentioned person is a permanent full time employee with ....

Start Date/Pay Frequency/Business Title/Hourly Salary: paid since.../Contracted hours/DOB/Address

Additionally I can confirm the attached pay slips are genuine and 2 payslips are separate and have taken together when working out his gross income for the week 9/9/22.

We have asked them repeatedly to put in the words 'non-salaried' but they ignore it every time. Would this letter still be 'ok'?

Thanks again.

Also sorry before I forget- we are now thinking to use payslips from June 24- December 30- just checking that this is 6 months isn't it?

I wouldn't worry about the "non-salaried" exclusion.  UKVCAS processing is reasonable and if they can see your application is bona fida i.e. not fraudulent they will ask you for more info if something is missing.

The ‘non-salaried’ part is very important and needs to be on the letter.

If the employer letter does not explicitly state that the position is NON-salaried, then UKVI may use the salaried calculation (lowest payslip x either 6 or 12 months) instead to calculate the income requirement.

We had someone who had their visa refused a few years ago specifically because of this… they met the non-salaried requirement but their employer letter did not state this, so UKVI assumed they were salaried, used the wrong calculation and incorrectly refused the visa. They had to go through a whole process to get the decision overturned and the visa approved.

Because of this, we now advise that non-salaried income is very clearly stated as part of the application.

Thank you very much ksand24 I do appreciate your reply and I remember you advised me the same and saved me from making a lot of errors in our last application, so going to get husband to send off another email to them now.

Hello all… apologies for the absence. Thank God my husband had his biometrics yesterday at 7.30am and around 5 hours later we got the email saying his application was successful.

I want to say a big thank you to everyone on the forum especially @larrabee @ksand24 and @mbmoffat.

Without your help and support I don’t know where we would be right now. It means a lot having resources and forums such as this where we can put our queries forth and receive prompt and excellent advice. From both myself and husband thanks once again.

Now to start thinking about naturalisation…
