ILR document check help and biometric/scanning question
« on: February 09, 2023, 01:34:44 PM »
Hi amazing UKY brain trust 8),

Could someone answer a few questions and then also look over my docs checklist and let me know if there are any errors?

I submitted my ILR application on 1st Feb. (I was able to get super priority at a 12:02 am, so thanks to this site for that advice!). The only biometric appointments available were for the premium lounge. I paid it because I was sleepy and having paid £800 to expedite the decision, I didn’t want to wait a month for biometrics. I didn’t realise that the premium lounge appointments include the document scanning/uploading, so I paid for document checking too. Grrr.

I already scanned most of the docs before I did the application. But I am having trouble scanning my new US passport and sponsor’s new UK passport. Since I have paid for this “premium lounge,” do you think it would work if I scan and upload the easy docs myself before the appointment and then have Sopra scan and upload the passports? Or is it better to not scan/upload anything and have them do it all at the appointment (which they won’t expect since I bought document checking, implying that I will be doing it all)? Any guidance/experiences with the service centre is appreciated.

The list of documents I will either upload myself or take to the appointment for Sopra to do are:

Application docs:
Applicant’s current US passport
Applicant’s old US passport (used since moving here)
Signed Sponsor declaration

Proof of Identity/Travel history:
Sponsor’s current UK passport—this is brand new last month. Do they also need the old sponsor’s UK passport to verify the travel history? The current one is a month old so all the travel history is in the old one.

Applicant’s BRP

Finances:
Bank statements covering 7 months (20 July 2022 to 20 January 2023) all showing at least £34,600 cash savings. (the application date was 1 Feb so this 20 January statement is the most recent bank statement we have. Is this okay?).
Signed sponsor declaration stating the source of the cash savings is accumulation over time.

Residence in the UK:
(Accommodation):
Land registry docs
Mortgage payoff letter from bank
Most recent council tax bill (March 2022)

(Correspondence—mail going back 2.5 years, every five months):
July 2020: Applicant—TV licence; Sponsor—Bank statement
December 2020: Applicant—NHS letter; Sponsor—Bank statement
May 2021—Joint bank statement
October 2021—Joint electric bill
March 2022—Joint council tax bill
August 2022—Joint bank statement
January 2023 (9th of January) Joint electric. Confirm this date is okay for 1st February 2023 application date since no Feb. documents? We did get the Feb. joint electric bill dated 2 February, after the application, should I submit it just in case?

Other:
Marriage certificate
Driving records from US (because of old naughtiness set forth in application)
Two Eurotunnel bookings (because Border control stamped my passport twice(!) with the wrong years of travel. Not sure if this is necessary but since they look at travel history, I want them to know that I did not enter France in May of 2019 and return in May of 2020. I also did not enter France in June of 2023 (although time travel would be cool).

Many thanks for all of your help!! You guys got me through the last two and I am so grateful to you for it!
