Super Priority Set(M) Application
« on: July 08, 2023, 11:11:42 AM »
Hello UK Yankee,

I'm hoping you can help reassure me that I have not totally messed up my visa timeline!

I submitted my SET(M) application for ILR a few weeks ago. I logged on to pay and complete the application just after 1am, when the option of paying for Super Priority service became available. I checked out and paid for the application and super priority service without any problem.

I then immediately went to the UKVCAS website and booked the first available appointment. I paid an additional £139 for what was called a "Standard Appointment." There were only two appointments available for the whole month, and they were both labelled and cost the same. I assumed that "Standard" just referred to a normal biometrics appointment with no additional services such as document scanning, document checking, etc.

Fast forward to today and I've just attended my appointment. As I was leaving the woman said "Since you have a standard appointment you'll receive your decision in about 8 weeks." I asked her what she meant, and said that I'd already paid for the Super Priority service so I was expecting my decision in 2 days! She was a little confused and just said that from her end it looked like a standard application (not priority), but that if I'd paid for Super Priority that I should maybe wait 2 days and then call them if I don't receive a decision.

I will call them on Monday, but in the meantime does anyone know if I have I done something wrong?? Or am I worrying over nothing? I have just checked my email and I definitely paid for the Super Priority service, but I"m worried that I somehow booked the appointment incorrectly? I am travelling next month so I cannot wait 8 weeks for a decision!!

My appointment was labeled "standard" and it definitely went through as super priority. If you don't have a decision (or at least contact from them because they can request more documents) on Monday I would contact them on Tuesday.

Thank you so much for the quick reply, that's really reassuring. Hopefully it's all fine then - I'll try to stay calm through Tuesday  :)

I booked a “standard” biometric appointment as well and I had paid for priority. I had the answer very quickly. Don’t worry!

Thank you both, and I needn't have worried. I found out yesterday that my application for ILR has been successful!!!

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone on this forum who has offered advice, answered questions, and shared their own experiences over the years. I couldn't have done it without you! Now onto the citizenship application   :D
