SPOUSE VISA extention - proof of cohabitation
« on: July 11, 2023, 03:35:08 PM »
Hello everyone!  :)

I started collecting documents for extending my husband's spouse visa at the end of February 2024.

His Entry Clearance vignette was issued on 24/06/2021. He first arrived in the UK on 15/09/2021.

Silly me, I forgot to add his name to my bills straight away, and in 2021 he only had the following proof of address:

- Bank Statement (Dec 21)
- Letter re his National Insurance Application (Nov 21)
- NHS/GP Registration Confirmation Letter (Oct 21)

Our first Gas, Electricity & Water bills with our JOINT NAMES were first issued in June 2022.

Do you think there might be a problem when we apply for extension of his visa?

Also, will online bills/bank statements be acceptable, or I need to request for the original paper bills to be posted to our address?

Thank you for your help!

That first part actually doesn't look too bad. Do you have anything for the period between December and June? And after that?

Correspondence only counts for the time you receive it.
Change everything to paper now and make sure you have something coming in each month for each of you. Bank statements are good for that.
That just makes it easier.
He hould be on the council tax bill too.

Two individual pieces of mail are as good as a joint piece so don't worry about that.
If there are any periods you are missing, you can explain in a letter and just include what you do have.

Thank you very much for your reply!  :)

I will contact our suppliers and request for paper bills.

Between DEC 21 and JUN 22 he has the following bills/documents:

- Admiral Car Insurance Policy & Letters (Dec 21)
- Two NHS Hospital Appointment Letters (Apr 22)
- Driving License Application Form (May 22)
- Bank Statements (Dec 21 & onward)

After JUN 22 he has the following bills:

- First Council Tax Bill was issued on 16.07.2022 and covered the period 01 Apr 22 - 31 Mar 23
- Bank Statements (Dec 21 & onward)
- NHS Hospital Appointments (Jul 22, Aug 22, Oct 22, Nov 22)
- Gas & Electricity Bill (JOINT NAMES) - Jun 22 & onward monthly
- Water Bill (JOINT NAMES) - Jun 22 & onward monthly

We also keep copies of our travel reservations/airplane tickets, pics, etc.
