Uploading Documents Update on UKVCAS website
« on: August 06, 2023, 03:51:42 PM »
Hi all! I have my biometrics appointment coming up, so I was going to upload all of my documents today onto the website. I noticed this blue banner at the top of the page that states:

Quote
We improved the Document upload pages for new applicants on 27/07/2023.

As we received your application before this date, use this page to upload your files.
This will not affect your application.

Self-submitting your documents is no longer required and the service has been removed.
We will submit all your uploaded documents at the end of your appointment.

Does anyone know exactly what this means? I upload the docs but they submit them for me? I'm confused because I don't know what this looked like before.

Yes, it sounds like you still need to upload your documents, but I assume there will not be a 'Submit' button on the website anymore, and instead, the documents you upload will be submitted once you have attended the appointment.

This is actually what used to happen anyway if you uploaded your documents less than 48 hours before your appointment - the Submit button would disappear and the documents wouldn't actually be submitted until after you attended the appointment.

Thanks ksand! Not having remembered what the page looked like when I set up my account, I was a bit concerned.

@ksand24 if my children have UK and US passports, do I need to scan both passports for my application? Thanks!
