Planning for ILR application
« on: September 13, 2023, 09:38:29 PM »
Hi,

I just passed my Life in The UK test, so I want to start planning for my ILR visa.

I entered the UK on the 2nd Jan 2019, and my current visa expires on 3rd February 2023.

Would I be okay to submit my online application on the first week of January or is that leaving it too last minute? With the holidays in December, family visiting from abroad, and a couple of birthdays..im worried I wont have time to apply in December.

For proof of cohabitation would I need proof of address for the following months?
Dec 21'
Apr 22'
Aug 22'
Dec 22'
Apr 23'
Aug 23'
Dec 23'

For my son's proof of address would a letter from September 2023 be okay, or should I request a letter from his GP closer to the time of applying?

Congratulations!

Assuming your vis expires in 2024, then yes, no reason why you can't apply in Jan next year.

The mail should be from your last grant of leave to remain which is normally 2.5 years so more of a 5 month spacing than the 4 months you had the last time.

I have a feeling the letter should be within 3 months of the application.

Okay, thank you!

Should I start from the month my last visa got accepted?
In this case, it would start July 2021:
Jul 21'
Dec 21'
May 22'
Oct 22'
Mar 23'
Aug 23'
Dec 23'

Hello again,

Just getting the finishing touches together for my application, I was hoping someone could look over my proof of cohabitation.
My last visa was approved 9 July 2021 so I started my proof from there:

Jul 21 Myself - HSBC Credit Card Statement
Jul 21 Husband - NHS Letter
Dec 21 Myself - HSBC Credit Card Statement
Dec 21 Husband - NHS Letter
Mar 22 Both Names - Council Tax
Oct 22 Both Names - Water Bill
Mar 23 Both Names - Council Tax
Aug 23 Myself - I have a letter from a private cardiologist with my address. Would that be okay or can I just use another bank statement?
Aug 23 Husband - British Gas
Dec 23 Myself - HSBC Credit Card Statement
Dec 23 Husband - DVLA

One more question to add!

For the question "Where did you spend time outside the UK for more than 2 weeks?"
I went to the US from 21 September to 4 October. Thats exactly to week, so I dont need to add in that trip, correct?

Hi again, I was able to figure out the answers to my revious questions but I had one more:

For proof of accommodation, is it okay to use a council tax bill from 12/03/23? It's an annual bill, so it shows payment due until 25/03/24

Yes. They do need a council tax bill and the annual one is fine.

Thank you!

So sorry, but Im confused with one more thing. Im uploading the documents and it's asking for my US passport (which Ive uploaded)
but then it asks me to upload the following:
All previous passports, travel documents or national identity cards that you have used to travel to or remain in the UK
and
The United States of America passport, identity card or official letter for Mrs Zaira Victoria Hayles to prove the level of English language required

Do I upload my passport again, or just leave that section empty (with '0 files uploaded')

If you entered on a previous passport you should provide that too.

I'd probably just upload the current passport again but I don't know what others have done.
