ILR letter from employer
« on: October 04, 2023, 10:10:47 AM »
Hi Everyone,

I will be using my partner's finances for the ILR application and was wondering if the below letter looks okay? I'm hoping to get my application submitted this week. Her pay date is on the 26th each month. I was thinking to go back to February for payslips just to be safe but not sure if this is overkill.

X October 2023

To Whom It May Concern:

Hi Franky604

Have you started the online application for ILR SET(M)? Are you employed as well?

The reason I'm asking is that both myself and my partner are employed so I answered "Yes" for both the questions "Are you working in the UK or overseas?" and "Is your partner working in the UK or overseas?"

Even if we are only using my partner's income to meet the Financial requirement for my ILR application, I am being asked to submit an employment letter, pay slips, and bank statements for the period of 6 months prior to the application date for the both of us. This is in addition to the supporting documents we need to submit to prove my partner's income meets the financial requirement.

If your partner’s income meets the requirements and you are not using your income, then you need to tick NO when it asks if you are employed… you will then only be asked to provide your partner’s financial information and documents, and not yours.

You should only tick YES to both of you being employed if you need to combine your incomes in order to meet the requirement.

If you don’t need to combine them, then you tick NO for your employment and complete the application as if you have no income yourself.

Thanks for getting back to me. I am indeed doing the ILR SET(M) application. To be honest, I don't recall being asked if I was employed - I've completed the online application already and the printout states my partner's name in the financial section and the required documents all ask for her information..... I'm panicking a bit now but I assume I should be all good to proceed with just my partner's info if this is what is being asked for on the UKVCAS upload site etc?

Yes, you are fine.

You should not be including your financial information unless you are using your income as well as hers to meet the requirements.

If you are only using your partner’s income for the requirements, then only her information and documents should be provided.
